Promise of Performance
Makino Europe appoints new management for customer success
Makino Europe has announced the appointment of Neo, Eng Chong as its new Chief Executive Officer. He will lead the company’s European operations together with Laurent Chevet, who has been appointed Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, with a focus on accelerating customer success and operational excellence.
Following the departure of Dr. P. Anders Ingemarsson, Makino Europe would like to express its sincere appreciation for his 23 years of leadership and commitment. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Ingemarsson played a key role in shaping Makino’s European strategy, strengthening its organizational development, and consolidating a culture that places customer value, technical excellence and production reliability at its core. Under his leadership, Makino reinforced its position as a trusted partner for high precision manufacturing solutions across aerospace, automotive, off highway vehicles, industrial components and micro technology industries.
The appointment of Neo, Eng Chong marks the next strategic step in advancing Makino Europe’s long-term commitment to precision technology and customer success. With leadership experience as President and Board Director of Makino Asia, Board Director of Makino Europe, and Director of Makino Milling Machine, he brings a proven track record of growth—most notably evidenced by doubling net sales at Makino Asia during his tenure since 2016. Mr. Neo provides the expertise and strategic vision necessary to support Makino’s continued evolution. His focus will include expanding application engineering capabilities, strengthening comprehensive production support, and fostering cross-regional collaboration with customers and business partners.
Complementing this leadership transition, Laurent Chevet has been appointed Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Makino Europe. A veteran of the organization with over 20 years of experience, Mr. Chevet has been a driving force in the company’s regional growth, notably establishing Makino as a definitive aerospace reference within the Atlantic region. In his role as COO, he will oversee the integration of operational efficiencies and ensure that Makino’s technical excellence continues to meet the rigorous demands of the European manufacturing landscape. His deep-rooted knowledge of Makino’s ecosystem will be instrumental in ensuring operational continuity and accelerating the delivery of innovative production solutions to our partners.
For more than 80 years, Makino has been recognised for its precision, reliability and innovation in advanced production technology. This long-standing reputation is rooted in a company-wide commitment to shaping the development of premium manufacturing processes together with its customers. Makino continually strives to deliver solutions and services characterised by outstanding accuracy, process stability and long-term profitability. This principle is reflected in Makino’s “Quality First” philosophy and its Promise of Performance, which emphasise the company’s role not only as a machine tool manufacturer but as a full-service partner in optimizing end-to-end production workflows. Makino machining centres operate in more than 40 countries.
