From 20^th to 21^st November 2018 the first Automotive Quality Management Systems Conference (AQMS) was held at the NEC in Birmingham. It was hosted by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) as one of the largest and most influential trade associations in the UK.

The UK automotive industry with an £82 billion turnover was represented by quality management leaders from OEMs and Tier 1 to 3 suppliers.

PLATO presented how the high demand of quality process standardization for the increasing complexity of vehicles (autonomous driving, alternatively energy, connected vehicle services) can be supported by PLATO e1ns as a central point of information, combining various quality methods. Particularly with regard to IATF 16949 scheme, it was proofed that with PLATO e1ns the efficiency of QMS related methods such as requirements analysis, FMEA, DVP+R, Control Plan and 8D-Report grows and help companies to boost their performance.

Expert presentations and best practise examples from OEM leaders were valuable to identify the demands and requirements of the Automotive Industry in UK. Automotive Brexit Priorities were expressed as maintaining regulatory harmonisation and follow standardised EU quality management schemes amongst others.
