King of the Netherlands visits TRUMPF
Visit Centers on German-Dutch Economic Relations
Ditzingen, in June 2013 – During his first official trip to Germany on June 4, 2013, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands visited the Ditzingen machine tool manufacturer and laser specialist TRUMPF.
TRUMPF can look back over many years of business activity in the Netherlands: the German company began selling its products there as long ago as 1953.
TRUMPF is currently working together with a Dutch firm on the development of a laser system for the production of microchips. By means of extreme ultraviolet lithography, the system enables production of even smaller and more powerful microchips for processors and computers, thereby securing the technology roadmap of the semiconductor industry. The King was informed in detail about this project during his visit.
"For us, time and again, our Dutch customers are good and challenging partners," said Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller, President of the TRUMPF Group.
"We regard the King's visit to our company as a compliment to the efficiency of TRUMPF, but also to that of German family-owned companies in general."
King Willem-Alexander was accompanied on his visit to TRUMPF by a 19-man business delegation. On a tour of the factory, Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller gave him insights into the product range and innovative strength of the machine-tool manufacturer and laser specialist. "As a high-tech company, we want to develop solutions that anticipate and match our customers' requirements. The key requirement for this is an open and constructive dialog on a level with our customers – and, with our Dutch partners, that works exceptionally well," said Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller.
In his closing statement, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands said: "For years now, Germany has been Holland's most important economic partner, in import as well as export. It is important to me to promote and to further strengthen this connection, also via personal relations on a corporate level. This is why I am especially happy about this visit to TRUMPF."
