TMDR from VARGUS: 3-in-1 Tool – Now Available in Additional Thread Standards
September 2019 – At EMO Hannover 2019, VARGUS is pleased to introduce the expansion to the popular and extremely successful TM Solid TMDR family of tools: for Drilling, Thread Milling & Chamfering - all in one tooling operation.
TMDR tools do not require pre-drilled holes and simultaneously drill and thread the desired hole into the workpiece. Since its first introduction at EMO Hannover 2017, TMDR tools have proven in the field to substantially improve cycle time and productivity. The TMDR also works on components with pre-drilled holes such as blind holes, thru holes, and even semi-finished holes.
The newly expanded TMDR now includes additional ISO Metric standards, as well as a brand-new offering of BSP (G) and conical thread standards (NPT)
- Metric:
- ISO Metric: 1.50, 1.75, 2.0, 3.0 for 2.5 X Do (thread diameter)
- BSP (G): 28, 19 & 14 TPI for 2 X Do (thread diameter)
- Metric and Inch:
- NPT: 27, 18 & 14 TPI
All new TMDR tools are available with coolant thru as standard.
TMDR tools are available in the general purpose VTS grade, which is TiAlN-coated for high resistance to wear.
The new TMDR tools are fully integrated in the VARGUS GENius™ software for tool selection and cutting data – ready to meet the most demanding threading requirements.
