Castolin 690 SF – electrode for difficult-to-weld steels
Castolin 690 SF is a rutile-basic coated, high-alloy CrNi steel electrode, ideal for repairs and preventive maintenance work.
The weld metal is characterised by high resistance to pressure, impact and cavitation, as well as good elongation and high strength. It is crack-resistant, can be filed but not hardened, and offers excellent rust and corrosion protection.
The electrode is characterised by easy ignition and re-ignition of the arc and can be used with direct or alternating current. The finely feathered welding bead ensures a smooth surface, while the slag is easy to remove. In addition, the material is scale-resistant up to a maximum temperature of 1100°C.
