Hello, I am looking to see if it is possible to upgrade a Hurco BMC Machine
The 486 PC which it is based on, would apear to be obsolete and unrepairable so the faliure of a small inexpensive electronic component renders a large expensive machine worthless.
I have heard that a passsive backplane can be fitted, Nexcom NBP1104 boards seem to be available and also Peak 715 processors
presumably these will work on a BMC Machine if I could get it to fit into the machine
I assume a card rack would have to be made to hold this board as it probably will not fit the old card cage
any ideas / advise please ?
I should be visiting Hurco on Tuesday and I will see if I can find anyone helpful there.

I'd like to see what Hurco solution is. I am looking to upgrade or retro my BMC 20.
