The Synrad 60-2 has an excellent reputation for quality and durability. This is a fine laser and able to cut through many materials. If you would like to know the material thicknesses and cut speeds then go to the Synrad website and download the laser calculator. Enter in the laser power and the material type and thickness and see the cut speed. This laser is qualified for laser cutting thick acrylic, MDF, thin metals, other materials.

This laser is highly desirable for CO2 laser engraving machines and CO2 laser cutting machines.

This laser is being pulled from a nonfunctional laser cutting machine, so this is why it is being sold. We are in the laser machinery business and checked out the laser and performed the mode burn and it works well. Well means that is put out roughly 230 watts, measured using a Mahoney CO2 laser power probe (+-5% accuracy).

There a several options for the software and control system. In the past, we have installed Synrad lasers:
1. On Chinese laser machines using the Leetro brand MPC6515 controller. However, we add a circuit to clean up the laser signal.
2. Using the TESTRA.com brand controller.

The USA made Testra controller is superior to the Chinese controllers. We have done both stepper and servo using the Testra. Software available is their CAM package which is very simple and easy to use. It imports DXF files and also permits drawing within the package. The Testra machine control software also contains and advanced laser control that includes the tickle signal that Synrad uses. The tickle is setting that keeps the laser charged and ready to fire. And, it includes a calibration table to set laser power so that it matches control settings. In other words, almost all commercial sealed CO2 lasers do not have a straight line power curve. Yet the controllers are set using a straight line power curve (10%, 55%, 75%, etc.). Testra permits a table to calibrate your laser in order to match a controller power setting to actual output power. We also sell the Mahoney laser power probe to take laser output readings and do the calibration.

what laser source will you use ? CO2 glass tube or RF metal tube ? i think control system in leetro is ok , but not very stale sometimes

Correct. Leetro is not stable and has bugs. I started using it in 2006, and am surprised today by the number of bugs in the system. It is truly frustrating to have to power the Chinese laser machine off then on periodically. I even power on and off as a preventative measure so that my materials are not ruined.
