Prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information. 1. Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting equipment. 2. Lay out and draw schematic, to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines. 3. Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems. 4. Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials. 5. Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data and to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed. 6. Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems. 7. Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment. 8. Position instructions and comments onto drawings. 9. Support Dorian personnel with design information if requested. 10. Assist quality control of the specified product line. 11. Conduct duties to existing engineering procedures. 12. Maintain records as required by above specified procedures. 13. Coordinate with interfacing departments. 14. Perform other responsibilities assigned by Management. 15. Initiate training to keep skills current as needed. 16. Accountable for records needed in department. 17. Confer with management to resolve problems or issues. 18. Follow and enforce safety policies.

Authorities: 1. Answer questions about a product line in Managers absence or managers request. 2. Inspect first articles in manager’s absence or manager’s request. 3. Submit prints for a product line in absence of the product engineer, with review of engineering manager Education: Drafting degree or certificate Skills and Abilities: Computer usage, reading prints, use measuring devices, tooling, product knowledge and supervisory skills. Computer usage includes software: AutoCad, Inventor, Microsoft office products, Global Shop
