Question Question about the drives in a Cincinnati Sabre's

I recently found two Cincinnati Sabre 750's both are 1996. The question I have is this. One machine has a velocity drive control the other does not have one (looks like never because they were no holes drilled in the cabinet). What will one machine do that the other one won't do? I can pick up the pair pretty cheap, if I do they will have to have some money put into them. Any thoughts about the drives?

    Thank You.

Seems like the machine with the extra drive may have had an optional rotary table. Look for plugs inside of the machine.

I don't recall seeing any (doesn't mean they were there). I thought that it was a fourth axis drive. The guy who has them he was a CAD guy so he really don't know.

they all had 3 servo drives: X,Y,Z. Most (all?) were prewired for 4rth axis (troyke optional rotary table). all had large spindle drive also.

if you want original missing drive it will cost you about $ 4000 for refurbed one (they are all well obsolete) unless you luck across one on ebay or equiv. we retrofit to newer drives but that is more complicated too of course and new drive itself will be around $ 1500.

better be sure what EXACTLY is missing before plucking down money....

It was just a stainless steel bracket box with electric boards in it and it said it was a velocity control drive.
