for those that may or may not be interested, ive been selling gantry kits and 2 complete tables for stupid cheap. im trying to get things "in stock" and trying to go 100% usa made with the exception...
will do :) i have to call and quote some material at work on monday.
i havent been in a position to cut any as of yet. ill path it out and try to cut some at work. waterjet time is $200 an hour so it may/may not be worth it depending on how long it takes...
well folks been away busy as hell, finished my table then sold it shortly after! time to build another one! this go around i got all of the brackets waterjet cut....enjoy the pics!

thats like saying..im using torsion bearings as my wheel bearings..it will be ok....completely different load types
by all means do what you want but there is a reason they dont talk about mounting like that....because 1) no one mounts ilke that 2) its not built for that type of load. i would call THK if i were...
you cant mount it like that..thats what im saying..they are only meant to be mounted horizontally or vertically with gravity being on the face of the rail...not backwards...if thats the way you want...
its not about what its rated for static loading...its about if they can support weight upside down
very possibly, money has been tight this week submitting patent applications and whatnot. each one is $250 a pop :( sucks
might want to check and make sure your linear slides can support the weight of your gantry and everything attached to the gantry mounted like that....

:P its funny what all those business magazines spout off...from my own personal dealings..and believe me im new to this but obviously ive done well...its almost like they set you up to fail. no one...
:P provisional is a heck of a lot cheaper and you can have it done within 6 weeks or less...a regular patent even expedited, can take 12 months, un expedited 12-16 months. thats a long time to wait...
some companies have let me skate by on a provisional patent. there are rules with the provisional patent and you can read them here

thats just it..you do need a patent if you want to sell to big outfits..they wont accept your product otherwise...

i think in this day and age it seems best to lower your standards as far as pay..profit per piece. i mean if you lower your standards while in a bar...you are sure to get laid...same applies when...
they are worth a lot actually...if you appeal to a large vendor, usually they will require you have the product patented, UPC code, proper packaging, product liability insurance, and a loooong list...
