Hi
Old thread this, but nevertheless interesting.

I also have changed my strategy for lubrication. I started out with grease in mind, but I now have a plan to extend the central lubing pump for the guides to also put some oil into the top bearing...
Ok, some update in this thread.
It has taken some time but now I have completed the spindle. I had a company manufacturing the housing as it was too big of a project for my lathe. The results was...
thanks
Your right about the three jaw chuck, its not the best thing. Collets it much better (though I dont have any for this lathe), and a specially made collet as you suggest is probably the best...
So I finaly had the existing spindle on my machine disassembeled and measured the same way as my newly built one.
The measurements was done with a good quality 20 mm thick, 130 mm long (not...
Not much response.. but anyways:
Did some more measuring on the spindle and it turns out that I when I put a good endmill in a collet and turn the spindle I get the same runout as the conical...
Hi all
Yet another thread on a homemade mill spindle. But I thought that the project might be of interest for some.
I try to improve my mill spindle as the current is a bit slow, week and runs...
[QUOTE=JH-Q;431781]The headstock is bolted to the lathe body, and the bolt holes are drilled 1mm bigger than the bolts are. I think i'll adjust Z-rails true, chuck some ground rod on the chuck and...
Nice work.
One quest though: how du you keep alignment of the rotation axis relative to the linear bearings? Can you adjust the location of the chuck bearings? Or can you just put stuff together and...
Enny: thanks, but alreday seen it. Actually my mill is working perfectly. Even better accuracy than I was expexting. Might upgrade to other controlling system during fall, for convenience.
Let me...
Hi all. Thanks for the replies. I did a search for this ME Conslutant 2.0 and found a thread here on our incredible forum when he was "relesing" it. I send him a private message and gave him a tip to...
As I have just purchased my first CNC (Denford TRIAC 1986) I have a question about how to calculate cutting data for my different tools. I dive into my old schoolbooks (I am a mechanical engineer..)...
JH-Q, very impressive work indeed. Just a few questions that came to my mind:
1. Since you will be able to make quite long parts (600mm ballscrew), how do you plan on supporting it, will you install...
Hi there
I just bought a Denford TRIAC myself. Its from -86 and has no toolchanger. Have to hook it all up tonight and see how it goes. Hard to find any info on it here and on the web..
Did you buy...
