I have a vmx24 that has started losing zero in the y axis. It moves about .001 when returning to zero. By the time I run a few parts, I'll be several thousanth's off location.Any thoughts or ideas ??
just upgrade to windows 7 and can't get the Hurco to communicate with the computer......anyone out there have any ideas?

you might just try a tapered carbide end mill....a 7 degree cutter with a 1/2 shank would have a 3/16 tip....they come in a spiral with 3 flutes....don't know about the scorching part.
I just inherited a Tree 325, with a cimworks dnc port. The dnc port is still connected to the 25 pin connector, but the wire from the dnc port to the pc was just cut. I have no manuals telling me...

Asd far as feed rates .001-.002 per tooth depending on cutter size and how good of a finish you need. The roughers should take about double that.
