Cover with heat shrink or plastic braid.
Slide the braid over the wire.
This expansion causes loss of about half of the lenght.
A 1 foot long piece is about 6" long at 3/4" ID.
I rolled the end over to aid in installation.
The braid expands to 3/4" ID.
This helped me to over come noise issues with my VFD.
My shop radio would freakout when the VFD was started.
I started with 3/8" wide braided shield.

Lower shot of enclosure and leak test.
It sits in a pan on plywood and a metal cabinet.
It does to an extent. The high frequency noise is alot less, but low freqs will always get by without futher dampening.
I have the right side adjecent to an inside wall...lots of noise.
.085" wall and doors.
.110" roof
Doors are kinda floppy.

j/k This is Erin.
Shes a great shop cat. Doesn't mind the chips and coolant in the fur.
Just hope she won't use it as a litter box!
I still need to coolant proof a few things...move the lathe, X and Y axis motors 180 degrees about. feed thru's for wires and hoses. The list just gets longer and longer.
You could...first start with a shower stall...j/k LOL
Got tired of wearing coolant and chips around, so I built an enclosure.
Its 60"x36"x48" tall.
Good to hear that.
Thanks femi.
