From what I see on my machine you need to do the complete conversion. I ran mine with the current reduction off and it still did not operate as smoothly as it does now. Current reduction is one...
If you have not done the conversion as described, you should. Let Mach do the current reduction. You won't be happier. My machine runs so much better. Whats your name on Joes form? Going deeper may...

Thanks for the info. My machine has gone from cutting at 30 to 50 IPM! Wow, what a difference! I'm hoping this set up will work on my Joes 4 x 4. Thanks, James.
Wow! That's alot of effort for a small result. Do you plan on dry cutting all of the time? If u are IMHO u need a dust foot and a dust collector. It's not a factor of suction, unless the vac hose...
Just purchased Joe's plans today, and recieved the plan set. Thanks Joe. But I am having problems registering to Joes fourm. The code at the bottom of the page is not readable. Its like I need 3d...
Before anyone buys a dust collector, a must read is Bill Pentz website on dust collection. U will learn that the 1700cfm rating is without any hose and possibly without that multi hose connector....
Would a sanding sealer or or one of those stain improvers followed buy stain and a top coat work? One could use "paint" colored stains or just clear after the sealer.
Carve1,
No the Craftsman Pro is not that old and runs well. It has feed back circuitry built-in and u can hear it add more power when loaded. Variable speed. I read somewhere that collets with...
Hey all. I looked at the pid site but did not see how it works. Bare with me, computer down and surfing on "smart" phone. Does it limit current and provide full voltage? I was following another...
That is amazing!!! Thank you sooooooo much!!! Was wondering if some one would do this. :)
You would thing. All though I have head that some routers have the ability to collect dust. Must suck air dome how.
Just a side note my craftsman router blows a lot of air from the cooling fan down at the work. This blows chips away and is counter productive. I built a perimeter dust collection on my machine....
Seem's to me that you are getting too complicated. I admit I do not have a dust shoe set up on my small machine. Having said that I do have a kick butt dust collector. One of you mentioned "Ihave...
Can we see a pic of how u mounted it? I was going the 10mm rout and going to see if a friend could make a collar to adapt to something.
:)
Yes cooling would be an issue. But I dont see why one could'nt place a small fan atop it. (Style like muffin fan) Dust should'ne be an issue if u have proper dust collection and dust foot.

Just getting back to this thread. If you are asking if lanimate or solid surface materials will chew up a bit I will say no. A carbide cutter may not last as long, but I have cut solid surface...
I am sooooo jealouse of you. I want to build a 4x4 machine bad. Hopefully this winter after I move into the new house.... Anyhow I love the Myan calander, table/wall hanging.. I think that...
Hi all. Just wondering if anyone is still working on any of these ideas. Power requirements seem to puzzel me. I looked at a motor that pulled 60 amps and was around 2700 watts. Does not seem...
I hope this is what you are asking. Not being a computer god like some of the other guys around here I miss read the directions and totaly missed the set. file. If this is not applyed properly it...
Hi Joe. I can source 40 X 80 T-Slot locally. Is 72" long effective enought to get full capacity? Are the plans scaleable for the 40 x 80 mm stock?
Khalid, how are you doing the 4 axis "turning". I just got aspire and I am to understand that it does not support that kind of work. What are you useing? Looks great!! Thanks, James.
Do I need special permission to view youre work? James
OK! I am a moron!!! Some how I did not get the set file and did not under stand the directions. I am pleased to say that the screen is now in proper opperation!! I will try funtionality later on. ...
I am going to ask one more time to see if I get any responce. I have tried to reinstall the Blue Screen and it did not work. Here is a shot of what I get. Something is wrong with the probing...
Joe, I must say that you hit it out of the park once again!!! I am very interested in this machine and want to replace my smaller machine. My question is, what's the resolution of this machine? ...
I dont see where this was answered. I am having the same problem. I guess I will try downloading again and see if that fixes the problem. Thanks very much for everyones skills and knowledge!!!!!!
