I have checked all the ball screws and turned a part to check machine accuracy. All looks good. the manual says that the timers are listed on a user parameter page but I can't find the page. It isn't...
I am looking at an older LR-15 with a 5020 control. It looks to be in good shape and the owner claims it has been in storage and is a Low hours machine. Is there a way to tell how many hours the...
I don't rememer any 'fast then slow' as it approaches proper index position. There was just one speed in each direction, controled by separate needle valve for each direction. It wasn't fast,...
If your turret index speed is adjusted to be the same both forward and reverse then I suspect that you have a timing issue with the resolver or reed switch that tells the turret it is OK to lock....
What control is on this machine? Is it two or four axis?
Please give us more info.

Your second new problem is controled by Par# 0028, bit 0 (the first one on the right side)
I don't know what shape of type of grinding wheel you are using, but if it is a regular abrasive wheel then you might try a porous wheel instead. Then you can induce the coolant at or close to the...
That is an option that's not turned on.
I sent you a PM.
Anything bigger than a 10 inch chuck will cause clearance problems.
Chuck a 10 inch piece to simulate a chuck and see for yourself.
This program taps a 3/8x16 thread on my P&W OM/b, try it.

Harri,
3 volts is OK to retain memory normally as long as it is left connected.
What is the part number on your CMOS (core) memory board?
If you send me a PM with your E-mail address I will...
The tape readers are generally trouble free but need to be checked for alignment especially if the bulb has been changed. Clean the bulb, the plastic rod (prism) below the bulb and the lens that the...
Harri,
Check the CPU Status LED's on the OSC-4 Computer. What do they say? While you are at it, check the 5v, 12v, 15v, 24v & -5v to make sure they are correct.
Has this machine been running in...
Thanks Al, that's what I was looking for.

I had to change pin positions on the DB25 connector on an early 90's LB-25 to make it conform to all my other Okumas. I beleive the comm board terminals were labeled making the job easy.

That explaines it. Try using a bigger cutter, at least 3''. The cutting action will come from the difference in circumferences and surface speeds. See a demo here, click on product video. Flat...
Please describe your cutter, diameter and shape, also part diameter.

I think you are hobbing instead of flat turning. Try turning the work spindle the other direction.

Mike,
That machine originally had a drain line (about 1" ) connected to a sheet metal collector near the back of the cylinder draw tube. The other end is routed to the hydralic tank. If the machine...
Barryr,
You can go to edit and type in a program with the keyboard. Start with a %CR. use a CR at the end of each block. Use an ER after the M2 at the end.
I suggest you write the program out first...
Chris, after you download to the BTR, set the machine to edit mode and push the Tape read button.
For transfering program back to the computer prepare computer to receive first then at the...
I don't think your OM-A has a screen that shows the ladder. That came with the Bs and later controlers.
It might have an interlock where it has to be in manual, MDI or Z home to change tools.

087 ERROR MEANS THAT YOU SHOULD LOOK FOR A TYPING ERROR IN THE FILE YOU ARE TRYING TO UPLOAD. ie TOO MANY DIGITS OR WORDS RUN TOGETHER OR POSSIBLY AN "O" INPUT INSTEAD OF A ZERO.
