I want to use this bt40 spindle, do you think it can handle 350mm fly cutter, speed is not important, just to do the job.
made a few changes. Total weight became 3000kg from 2500kg. On the last picture there is a standart router, which looks like a toy next to the monster :D
(my previuos router, almost the same as...
Changed Z axis a little bit to steel tube 250x150x12.5mm and 650mm long.. a little bit better result and i like more this design.. Must make cut in the tube so i can machine the plate inside on which...
1000N at spindle tip
yes 300 high and 200 wide, i have simulation, those are the steel available at my local store
tell me where to add load how many kN and i will simulate the deflection.
I have 2x 150x250x12.5mm...
added more steel to the gantry. Internal bracing will be added. Do i need to upgrade the gantry tube, it's now 300x200x10 for example to 2x 150x200x10 welded together
this is for 63mm facemill cutter with 4 cutting edges.. recommended chip load for the cutter is 0,15mm per tooth. depth of cut is 1mm.. with 100mm facemill will be 2 to 3 times faster since it will...
i dont have motor with brake nor with double shaft. How about a relay that disconnects the stepper motor from the driver when power off and short circuit the motor. Maybe will add counterweight if...
im worried about Z with servo because it weights around 150kg. How about 2x servos on Y and steppers on Z and X, or it is not good idea.. I already have 10x nema 34s
are 750w fine for the job? 2.4nm at 3k rpm or 24nm at 300 rpm with 10:1 gear box. How about X. Can i connect the servo direct to the screw without gearbox.
calculations are right. so 10:1 is what i need. How about the holding torque for X when we increase pitch size does it become half?
It looks that I dont have enough torque to move the gantry?
thanks for joining Peter. I saw Haas routers have 4 cars on each side, the machine will cut only steel at 100-200mm/min, also gantry+Z axis weights around 400kg
planned spindle speed max is around...
Im designing my router for cutting steel. this is going to be my 4th machine, before that i made 2x routers 2500x1500 working area and 2 small machines. The idea of this machine is to fit a normal...
Hi, there is local seller of these machines, he says they are made in China. I can't find any information in google for them. If u know other places where they are sold, please share.
In my country new steel costs 1.4 euro per kg. they buy scrab steel at 0,2-0,3 euro per kg depends on thickness. I asked for discount but they cant make.
There are some T-slot tables for selling near me. What do you think to use it as a frame. size is 2000x4500mm.This is a bit bigger than i need but there isnt other size. Price is 5500 euro. 10 tones...
I thought our country doesnt have big ovens, but actually we have some very large. The nearest is within 100km with size 4000x4000x1000mm. I asked for price...
thanks peeteeng i will re design my construction. i will try to find some1 to do the reliev..
It is for hobby use, after a bit thinking, 0.1mm accuracy through out the whole area would be perfect for me.
Actually I would be happy for 0.01 to 0.02mm accuracy of the machine
Yes in bulgaria, actually 500$ is a lot of money for my country. Almost one average month salary.
Peteeng: interesting design..
Thank you Peteeng, I will read more about braze wielding, I think this will be the easiest. Do I need to do all joints like this or only for tube to tube conection.
Hi routalot, I will use the...
They will machine it for 500$
budget is 10 000 euro but i prefer to make it
I also heard that i can put the frame outside for 1-2 months on rain and sun, that way it will also stress relief a bit.
Hello everyone,
this is going to be my second machine, way bigger than the frist one. I want to see ur opinions about the design.
I dont really like the Z axis, can u check it? both plates are...
This is the old configuration. I made a new housing for the new motor.
Well, I only need the maximum torque at low speed 0-50rpm because I wind flat wire 5x5mm. My nema 34 12nm is not strong enough
Thanks alot for the useful information, I'll be looking for proper servo motor.
I'm thinking for something like 5-6N.m servo 3000rpm with belt 4:1.. so max speed will be 750rpm which is fine for...
My current motor nema 34 12nm, works up to 900rpm. I can stop it with one finger but at this rpm the wire I wind is 0.1-0.2mm and it works fine.
Will the nema 42 work with 900rpm too?, I cant...
