Sorry, I apologize for not following along. Had some difficulties to work through.
Yea I figured it out. Manually select (and observe in SC Tool window) where the control point is. Then make sure...
Upgraded from 9 to 10 and 10 runs so much faster. Apparently there are still issues, like auto update. If you cancel out it breaks the auto update. And I have read that some of the updates slow it...
Its in there. Not in front of my computer so.... should be under the round icon or the gear looking icon.
Works ok, it should shift the tool path to the bottom of the part.
Yea, NO. Stick with 1.9.4b, there are other issues in addition to tapping.
Do you have a turret?
What I figured out (may be a no brainer for some) is the tool entry and exit lines have a pretty profound effect on the tool path, which was why it seemed the program didn't know where the control...
Lathe
seems there may be some bugs in the contour grooving function.
struggling with it but still need to try a couple different settings.
Anybody having trouble with profile grooving?
Tool path and tool tip do not seem to know where each other are.
Yes you can show the supplements in the same job.
Look in the visual properties in the drop down there, make sure it's checked.
I have the turret and qctp going.
you just have to expand...

Quick check and switches and housing are tight.
I'll email tech support and see what they say.
Thanks for the info
That's good, but a lot of my parts require +-.0005 so I need to dial it in.

I have measured parts that were made a week apart and they were almost identical. I only tested with calipers, but I will mike the ones I make tomorrow with the same kind I...
I dont know about the switches but I was a little wrapped around the axle on that one. But come to find out, like cybrd said you use tool 1 as a reference.
So I set x and z zero on all 8 tools....
It depends on what you want to make. Me, i wanted flexibility. I have a turret and a 40 position qctp mounted on an aluminum block I machined. The lighter cutting stuff will be done by that, where...
Thanks
I'll set that up tomorrow. I understand what the offsets do, just hard to get a mental picture of whats going on.
Thanks

I'm still learning but that is what the work offset is for. Set all the tool offsets and then change one offset to shift everything. I suppose that would work and would prevent setting all of them...
There is a plug on the operator side of the turret. I put the plastic coolant flex line and ball valve in there for the hard to reach cuts. Line from pump went into the backside.
I made my own...
I have to find that video might learn something!
Did you make a first part using the manual? I was up and running pretty quickly and understood most of it.
Two ways to set center....place...
About 9 months of weekends here.
You'll get used to the inverted tools on the turret side. They do help a bit with chips falling downward but you still wind up with wild ones that get wrapped up. ...
Hi Kyle, I have about 9 months of weekends on the 15L so I'm no expert but I install them in the turret, using the flat as the aligning surface. Goes in the same way every time. Just measure bore,...
Yea it happens before you know it. tried it out with a 10-32 tap in aluminum only .250" deep. didn't want to screw up too much if I did something wrong.
Tormach has the postprocessor file for Sprutcam on their website if that helps. Bought Sprutcam with my lathe a few months ago and just recently ran a simple stepped shaft with a couple chamfers and...
CNC newbie here and looking to learn. Chomping at the bit for a new 15L slant bed lathe. Just trying to research the issues before a possible purchase. Glad to be here!:)
