Hi,

The person who sold me the Schneider servo knew nothing about servos. He tried to turn the shaft but it was stuck then he said "I can't guarantee this servo works or not". So asked something like $50...
The one I got has no built-in motor. It's just a BT30 atc cartridge. I use it with a Schneider 1.3kw 4500RPM servo. A little slow but machine is a mill. I built it for steel so no need crazy speeds....
err, why this spindle? They sell BT30 cardridges for the almost same price. I got one last month. The quality is very decent.
I wasn't referring to the ball screw. I was referring to the bearings inside the BK end support.

By "them" I meant the Chinese. I don't know the if one in your link is made in China or somewhere else. Just a little heads up.

By the way check the bearings in that BK end support. They use deep groove ball bearings instead of angular contact ball bearings.

In my BF20L mill I ended up using double ball nuts because the backlash of my old single ones (Chinese) was terrible. I still have backlash but in acceptable range I believe.

Battal. Means "big" in Turkish.

Hi,
A friend of mine owns this machine. He says some other idiot removed the bios battery (in hope to fix a sensor error) and now all the parameters (or whatever the Fanuc needs to boot) are gone....
I had worse. It was a pain but I managed an AASD servo and drive to work as spindle motor on my lathe. Position mode worked well except threading cycle in Mach4. That was because PoKeys does not...
Mine is a C6. No twist but it has small amount of wear on the spindle side. I've been thinking about milling the way flat and install linear guides but this means sacrifice on the swinging diameter...
Best option would be a slightly faster AC servo I guess. I installed a Schneider 1.13kw servo and ABB drive to my BF20L mill. I control it by velocity mode. I'm happy so far.
I know people also...
Hi,
The largest part I'll machine is a steel 100mm diameter turbine wheel.494906

Hi,
Specs of the HD I have says the torsional stiffness is 14Nm where average torque is 55Nm. That's a little confusing for me.
Do you mean I need to use a softer metal like aluminium instead of...
Hello,
I just received my Harmonic Drive CSF-25-50 that I'm intent to use for the 4th axis. Good thing with this type of HD is that it comes with a nice cross roller output bearing which allows...
Hi,
@abfa9358 I don't know if you are still around but what size of FB type HD did you use on the 4th axis? I have a BF20L CNC mill and will build a 4th axis. I have 17 and 20 size in my mind but...
Not answering the op but I converted a Siege C6 to CNC few years ago. I can do everything a 2 axis lathe can do including threading. However converting a manual lathe brings problem as well. No...

Hi,
I have the same tool setter. Have you figured out the wiring?
@deadlykitten, are you really in Antarctica? :)
Hi,
Actually a strain wave gear was my first choice but Turkey has a EUR 150 limit per order. If one goes over that amount the cost almost tripples because the customs import sh*t. So I need to...
Hi,
I nearly finished it but the geometry wasn't perfect because the backlash in the X and Y axes. So I stopped there and started to upgrade my mill. I installed DFU ball nuts thus backlash...
Hi,
Good luck on your build.
I have converted my SIEG C6 few years ago. I'm still using it. From the pictures the SC4 and C6 look very similar. Is the SC4 a newer version of the C6?

I put the machine all together. Now I measure 0.0213mm on both axes. However I noticed the long 2 segment arm of the magnetic base for the dial indicator is moving a little when the dial pin touches...
I also changed the oil lines for m 6mm to 4mm. I'd like to use copper tubes instead but I never had luck with them. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20221113/093ce6c72cd5bab00861a0b61c77805b.jpg

Hi @peteeng and @badhabit ,
I don't know why but my Tapatalk does not send push notifications, so I'm missing replies.
My hobby room (cellar) is very small and I have limited space. Currently I...
Here's the X axis ball nut housing (or mount) I just made. It takes the first part and one third of the second part DFU 1605. The only thing I'm concern is that I made it off aluminum. Should I make...
