I'm building my own control panel and I can't seem to find any reference to rapid overrides in the UIO-10 "manual" (airquotes mine LOL). I assume it's because EdingCNC doesn't treat G0 and G1 any...
I am just getting started on EdingCNC, with a CNC720. I am definitely not an amateur, since I am - as of this year - a former professional machinist now in engineering school. I am happy to learn all...
UPDATE:
OOTB, CNC4 & CNC5 are NOT set up for homing at all. I will be talking about CNC5 here.
The reason I could jog before homing - but very slowly, was because Maximum Velocity was very low...
UPDATE:
The EdingCNC manual is not written well, and the website is a mess. Currently, there is no coherent CNC720 manual available as a download, as they are converting to a fully online manual...
UPDATE:
I can now confirm that my wiring is correct. Feel free to refer to this in the future; if you're using Teknic's blue-jacketed 8-conductor cables with Molex connectors, connect them the...
I have a problem setting up my machine with a CNC720 controller & breakout board and Clearpath DC servos. I think I may be the only person on Planet Earth that has such a combination!
First, I...
Have you lost any rigidity by removing the aluminum extrusions? I had considered them a structural component.
I have the same machine on order, BTW. I just found this thread and it's nice to see...
Take it from me... be careful about how you wire in the 220v if you use a transformer. I fried my VFD doing that wrong.
You're probably on the right track with this. Merging bodies in extrudes is a very useful tool until it isn't. Either way, I think a screenshot of his feature tree will explain a lot.
Can you post a screenshot of your feature tree? I'm curious how you have this set up.
I see what you're trying to do. You want a fixture to be based on a part, but you want to remove the part when you're done designing the fixture. Or something else?
You can also insert a part into...
Before I throw more money at this, I thought I'd check here first to get others' perspectives.
I bought a KBDF-27D VFD and a 1.5kw spindle for an Avid Benchtop Pro router, mainly because I...
I tried. This EXACT same conversation with my brother went EXACTLY the same way.
Maybe that's why I care. I sincerely want to help you, but I have absolutely no skin in this game. All of those...
If you are unable or unwilling to believe that grammar and punctuation are important for communication, and unable or unwilling to accept constructive criticism, what are you doing here?
You have...

If you want to be taken seriously as a subject matter expert, you can't post run on sentences like this. It has the same practical effect as writing it out in crayon on a chalkboard; the...
For the record, I am not concerned about damaging a $200 drive. I just magically destroyed a slightly more expensive drive and I'm not crying about it.
I want to make parts in my home shop, and I...
I came on here because I have a bunch of time to kill before my machine shows up and I wanted to make educated decisions about the control and spindle drive. Jim has answered my questions, with a...
Not relevant. I already had a 3kw transformer designed for using overseas appliances in the US, and I wanted to see if the VFD performed any differently when plugged in through it.
Unfortunately,...
I'm learning something.
I actually used to know a lot of this stuff, but it's been so long since I've had to manage any of it that I've just forgotten. If you can remember, I gutted and rewired...
It's not.
There are no instructions for L1/230V + N + G.
KBDF-27D
It doesn't help that the labels were never on the thing to begin with, but since I read the instructions I knew where to...
I did. Kindly point to where it says how to connect 230V to L1.
This is exactly what I said before! I would have needed to wire it like they do in Europe, but I never found the instructions for that.
Anyway, I just broke down and ordered the WEG CFW300...
Actually, none. After rereading the manual I'm not actually sure what I did wrong. I literally just unplugged it from the wall and plugged it into the step-up transformer with the same plug. POOF!...
This has been fascinating. Since I destroyed the VFD by plugging it in after a step-up transformer (without changing any jumpers), I decided to tear it apart and I think I can fix it. I'm pretty sure...
Thanks for taking my side! ER20 is simply not negotiable, and I have no plans to mill depleted uranium or any other materials that don't belong on a router made of extruded aluminum anyway. I doubt I...
And I used a step up transformer to get the exact same thing as European domestic voltage, which is why I asked! I was going to return it, but now I just have to chalk it up to ignorance on my part....
I learned something today. For the longest time I was confused (still am!) about this stuff. I actually ran a 3HP single phase motor on a Bridgeport clone I bought brand new, with two 110/115/120V...
Hey Jim, long time no see! I'm not using my real name here, but let's just say I used to make bicycles in Portland and you were very helpful to me when I was getting my machine shop up after I got...
Again, I'm not sure you realize how little you're actually communicating about my question. I want to know what the hell Huanyang is selling. WTF is 110V/3PH? Forget everything else about what we've...
