As far as I know, Microsoft does not write any hardware drivers other than for their own branded hardware (mice, keyboards, etc.). The hardware makers write all of the drivers. If they are included...
I found this pinout posted on another forum. Maybe it will be closer to what you have.
If you still have the connectors that you cut off, they have terminal numbers on them. You can use the numbers to figure out what the function of each wire is. Here is a pinout diagram.
The 5 micron tolerance applies to everything?
The problem is likely with the parallel port card.
See if there are any settings in the driver that came with the card that can be adjusted. Many of these cards are designed for printers only.
A...
As far as I can tell Vista is chocked full of digital rights managment crap that infringes on our rights as consumers.
It appears that you cannot run certain copy protected material unless the...
Check the Edmund Optics catalog:
http://www.edmundoptics.com/us/
They have lots of optics designed for lasers....and everything else.
It is explained on page 4 of the documentation.
Vm is the power supply pin for the chip and the steppers. It takes +7.2 to +16.5 vdc.
Vd is used for a clamping diode between pins 1 and 16.
Any...
I have used a 20hp phase converter on a 100 amp service running a 10 hp machine. I used a 100 amp breaker on the branch circuit that fed the converter.Care must be taken to avoid turning on the dryer...
On large engines we use a system similar to this one:
http://www.americanmachinetools.com/Line_Boring.htm
It should work for the bores that are in line with the axle. For the pinion bores you can...
We had some rigid tapping problems recently.
I found it helpful to test on a soft material like wood. If it taps perfect threads in wood without shredding it, you know the machine is doing it's job...
Could that be the thread rating?
Forum FAQ for ratings linky
^^apparantly not^^
I see what ya mean now. That's an interesting feature.
Yes it will work. You don't need to use the fourth axis if you don't need it.
It is better to have it there. If there is a problem with the driver on any of the other axis, you can swap to the spare...
I never did get this connected to the control. Not through any fault with the software though.
The Galil card is buried under a PC104 computer and uses the PC104 ISA interface to communicate, so I...
For wire I use ECS in Richmond. They have good pricing. Larger gauges and tech cable I get from Westburne.
I often buy electronic supplies from SMI since they are close to me.
Electrosonic and...
Ok I tried the M28, no effect.
I tried all the different combinations of G codes that were suggested and it still just stops.
I tried changing the 5210 and 5212 params...same result.
Then I...
Sorry that I've been dragging my feet on this guys.
I now have the recommended format for a rigid tapping program directly from the machine tool builder.
I will try it and all of your suggestions....
OK no guarantees.
I made a drawing of how I think your switch works.
Confirm that I have the jumpers going to the correct terminals.
I think the remaining motor lead should connect to 9 or 12....
I noticed the G98 prior to the macro call.
Does it need to use G99 (feed per revolution) instead?
Maybe that is the "spindle mode" error.
I agree with the others on the costco offering.
A fellow I work with bought the stainless steel roller cab and top box at costco.
It's very nice for the money. I spent way too much for a snap on...
Still no help from the supplier?
OK if you check this diagram:

I think that is what they are doing with the switch you have.
It looks like...
I don't have a machine to look at for referance. If you can post a picture of the switch and the wires that are on it, we might be able to figure it out anyway.
Neither one is particularly accurate considering you can get a Z axis DRO for less money that will do 0.001" or better.
I am guessing that they traded off accuracy for resistance to mis-sampled...
A DRO for my table saw fence has been on my wishlist for some time now.

If your router is big enough, you could make a skill saw attachment for your Z axis and do it all on one...
Oh 70C. :o
Sorry Wildcat, I wasn't paying attention.
Nevermind.
That seems way too hot.
I don't see any spec in the 320 manual but I would imagine the 203 would have similar temp specs.
I have not used a 320, so I could be wrong. Wait for someone with more...
OK I installed the Galil driver dmcdriverdll02 from Galil's download page.
The plugin initializes properly now.
I'll try connecting to the controller when I get a chance and post the results.
No error. It stalls on the line with the G80 in it.
It seems to be processing it because I tried adding in a G25 on that line and it complains with an error.
I tried removing the M03 line and it...
I finally got a chance to play with this again today.
I re-read the rigid tapping page in the programming manual and at the very bottom it says "Specify G84 for rigid tapping (parameter G84 No. 5200...
