Could you kindly refer to him as DOORKNOB !.. please.
I think I found your problem.. Reading skills!...

Ah but it is when people start reaming others and boast they can do the same for much, much, much less $$$ that raises the hair on my back of neck. I think we proved that 35$ is a reasonable price...
My verdict is you will not save money going the DIY route building these ring lights. At 35$ for B-RAD's store bought item, it is well worth the money for a quality product in both fit and finish....
You do not see my point. I do not want additional dangly wires and gizmos that need power from an external source. I like the self contained feature of this setup. Plus I can allways kill the light...
Meters and scope availlable but the fact the fan drops does not bother me at all. The fan is still pulling air and the switch is right in front so I can turn off the led ring when not needed.
...
24 leds @ 20ma estimate about 500ma. The fan spec says 12V/100ma. The power converter board says 13V/1A. I suspect is is cheap and not regulated at all.
But then I probably miss calculated as...
No my friend. Wired in parrallel right at the board output going to the fan. Little power supply has 110V going to it, transformed to a claimed 13V 1A. Did not mesure the voltage so It may not...
Slipping belt. Took another look at it.
The belt drive is quiet and a nice addition. But hard to see when the belt is slipping and hard to shift from one pulley set to the next. Ended up I did...
Just an update on the 12V power.
I wired mine up. Took all the wires out and re-feed them thru including 2 for the led ring. I was repainting the whole mill. I have little to no dangling wires...
Rebuilding this mill and all back together. I discovered I can grab the spindle with one hand and slow it to almost a stop. I do not stop it for fear of blowing the controler but I am surprised I...
if it is drifting out of proper path, dropped steps. The TB6560 based boards are notorious for them.
The dropped steps come at a change in direction, allways dropped going in the same direction...
Which of the marvelous TB6560 based boards is this by the way. Many sour flavors of this chip/board.
The mouvement AFTER the application JOG button is released could be just about anything and...
Agreed entirely, having gone thru the exercise so far.
The 2 led rings where 13$ all told included shipping from China and since they where 13$ they came in without being taxed or dutied. They...
I received my angel eyes from China. All of 2 weeks wait and 13$ for 2 units. 80mm ring with 24 high output leds (5050). Bright as day on 12V. Needs work as the wires are holding on by a single...
B-RAD , you certainly did.
Provided a solution and the seed for options if the cost was a concern.
Good thread.

Wierd Science.. Murphy's Law.. Sun Spots..
Only thing important is it's back to normal.

Great to hear.
But it makes no sense or we were missing more details.
Signals where going to wrong axis ? unlikely.
Dropped steps ? Now the issue has now been moved to the X axis.

Aware of that diagram as it came up in the "HOW I FIXED MY CHINESE TB6560 BOARD" thread.
16 and 17 are optional output ports. The 4 pin berg connector you found is the end of the line unless...
that vise is 1.97 high. and you are missing .190 is that coincidence. Wish I was smart and good at this to see why that stirkes me as possibly relevant. Don't ask me in what way thow. Is there...
Just a guess.
If one coil is inverted in relation to the other, the motor will buzz and not move.
So if the direction of rotation is wrong you invert both A/A- and B/B-.
As to the other...
That 15 pin white connector (JST) is for the optional pendant or manual jog (Joy stick, game controler), the optional display panel or other similar device. The external DB15 connector shares the pin...
dropped steps on the Z axis motor controler ? But that should not be a constant, half value loss.
Some tool compensation table involved that does not get reloaded on a re-install.
Does "...
On the 3 axis version of the blue TB6560 board pins 15, 16, 17 are not used and are availlable. You can tap into them on the bottom of the board, at the 25 pin edge connector. Just make sure you...
Since he states that jogging moves the Z axis exactly the right amount it does not seem to be anything hardware related but purely in the software.
Sounds like it is only getting half the set...
If yours is the same ( confirmed ? ) red board as the original poster, you have a single enable line for all axis in coming on pin 1. If your parrallel cable is defective and it just happens to...
The small transformer circuit in the X2 is 13v @ 1VA. The fan is 100ma. So that leaves you with plenty for the led ring. 24 of the 5050 tri-leds is 500ma. So you still have 40% overhead from the...
We (IBM and in my 38th year) have allways had DB25 at one end and Centronics at the other end of parrallel cables. The where only 6 leads different in the cables (IBM/Epson) and the specs were all...
My experience is with the "all-in one" TB6560 based cards. Can not comment on the other single axis TB6560 based boards. As you are aware of the start up sequence affair you have a head start.

Long runs of parrallel wire (as in flat cable) may not be a good idea. The ethernet cables are usualy twisted pair internaly to keep cross talk down. Shielded or non shielded cable will also be...
