Shoot me a pm that works just fine. 20" isn't big ;) 60" is big and we do those for manhole covers out of 3/4" ever so often.

I am in Chandler, Arizona
I have an Omax cnc waterjet 5x10 cutting area 50,000psi.
Price is a flat $1.25 per minute
You are responsible for material costs
You are responsible for cad work and providing us with either the...
I stopped responding do you after you issued the first dispute even though you had a tracking number. You are a liar and you are the one out to scam people. I can post the dispute in its complete...
Isnt it funny how you got your parts exactly as you said you wanted. you had a hissy fit and filed a claim with paypal and they denied your claim then you filed another claim and they denied that one...

I made one out of stainless steel....works great...
Thinking either doing a planetary gearbox and smaller steppers or going full servo. Undecided yet, most likely will go the servo route just to get the crisp acceleration and faster speeds, also will...

bottom leg gussets are done and bent, now time to do the leg sections and start cutting tubing.

Nest of the legs complete and ready to waterjet cut.
They make a "smooth" version, and they sell "covers" for the tslots. 3x3x.125 will hardly be as rigid as you think. maybe ok for a 4x4? but still..a cost of the extrusion would only be around...
Why not use some 4x3 or even 2x3 8020 extrusion? That stuff is way more rigid than a normal tubing and wont weight as much as steel either. My cnc waterjet uses extrusion for all 3 rails on the...
Why not...A potential customer asked me to build a table a few months back and started down the road of engineering one then turned into a business idea then another potential customer wanting one...
I personally dont think it matters. Sure 1 way is stronger if it isnt supported, but if you are supporting the rail it shouldnt matter. Plus the gantry weight for either of our machines shouldnt be...
I am copying the design of the rail of my $160,000 waterjet. Using the same extrusion size. My gantry assembly will most likely be only 10-20% of what my waterjet gantry weighs also.

I know you might have a vendor for these, if it falls through I have a swiss machine and could crank these lil guys out for you. shoot me a pm if your new supplier falls through!
How about waterjet? This is a perfect candidate for waterjet and I have one.
The ball screws and lead screws were the same exact price from China. a whopping $14 each...
They are cheap, but the cost of the bearings isnt the issue, it is the downtime and hassle that is. Ceramic bearings cost me a whopping $8 each shipped from aliexpress.
The ball nut does fair...
having owned the k2cnc type version of this and going through several of them...the bearings on the bottom are the first to go, rust up, and bind causing all kind of issues. ceramic bearings are...

Tom, with all due respect, and I am saying with all due respect here....You arent the only one on the block with the resources to make a nice THC unit ;)
Please take note to the compliment hidden...
I think ill commission some friends to whip up a standalone THC unit.
i disagree with you on that.
a quality servo system is not going to be the same price as a stepper system that has encoders.
point me to what you have used in the past so i can stay away.
belt reduction works decently. my omax waterjet uses belt reduction only on a much more massive scale and its all enclosed with boxes
the reduction gears can be had for under $300 each. thats not...
I know servo is the way to rock and roll but I am more inclined to use planetary gear reduction boxes for all axis except the Z and use closed loop stepper motors. My omax waterjet has stepper motors...
