I had a problem like this where sometimes I'd press an arrow key to jog in the X- or X+ direction and the machine would continue in a different direction when repressing the same arrow key.

I haven't tried to convert it yet, but I'm seriously considering adding some kind of motor to the X-axis, even if it's just a cordless drill or some such thing.

Ok, thanks, I'll give those ideas a try as well. Chaging my direction pulse up to 15 ( the max that I could set it to in mach3) didn't make a difference unfortunately.

Well, unfortunately, changing the direction pulse width from 2 to 5 did not work. Could this be a problem with the type of wire that I used to connect my motors to the G540? I used what I had on hand...

Thanks for the details. I got the file and put it into the mach3 directory and am able to select it from the mach3 loader screen. So, that's one problem down and more to go.
