I have reached that point myself but the actual component location is still eluding me as it is possible that the 12 has been disabled by something.

here is g540 Metric with chinese cnc ..the axis directions will depend on your wiring.
this setup has 3 home switches all connected to the same pin (only one input used)
it also has a hunyang vfd...

I think you may have to play with step low active and dir low active on motor outputs . one at a time and remember to reload mach3 as somethings dont change unless it is reloaded .it was...
They look a lot better and could not be as bad as the older ones ..what are the wires like ? Can you run 10 hours with no step loss?

ok what solved my z noise was to change the step dir on motor out puts.
It had something to do with noise from the parallel port of the pc ,or a eartrh loop...but I also fitted a seperate wallwart...
Sorry it has been a few weeks since i set them but you will have to change mach3 as well ..you need to get your head around the step vs acceleration vs movement .
Just swap you boards and confirm...
