Custom broach if you have several to make and the hole is a through-hole.
I use a cheap aquarium air pump/bubbler in each of my coolant tanks.
Kool Mist #77 as flood coolant on the CNC's and the manual mills.
Rustlick Synkool for the cold saw and bandsaw.
Having the...
I checked with my anodizer today. He said it will ruin the original anodizing when going through the stripping/cleaning process the second time.
Better off with a paint stick or wax or ? to fill in...
+1 on the 303. A joy to work with using the right cutting tools.
416 is somewhat less corrosion resistant and I believe it is magnetic.
Just an idea...
If you have enough depth of the Delrin clamped in the vise, you could place a piece of alum or steel on both sides before clamping. Cut them just a little under the Delrin size to...
Maybe try a long fixture-table mounted to linear rails/slides with index pins/locks.
You'd need to increase the length of the vacuum fixture, but that could be incorporated into the table.
I...
Agree.
If that is a through-hole, might want to drill about a .5" hole first then mill the finish cut. That will allow a lot of the chips to fall through the hole.
You might want to pick up a photo tachometer before braking too many taps. I'm not sure how accurate the Series III's spindle speed is, but my older Tormachs were off.
You can get them from...
Welcome,
I would recommend spending some time going through the many posts in this forum asking the same questions.
I have 2 1100's, a Series I and a Series II. Run the heck out of them. One...
My 4th axis (8") for a 1100 series I measures approx. 12.5" from the centerline of the chuck to the end of the motor housing.
It's not on the mill at present.
Maybe someone with a 770 can get...
+1, been there, done that.
You also might want to consider a less-angled slope of the bottom.
Or have a perforated (maybe expanded metal) mini wall to block circular parts that have been cut off...
Then yes, you would have full 4 axis.
Is the rotary table installed without the 4th axis driver? Tormach sells it that way, but I'm not sure why anyone would want it just to save about $450 retail. With it, you'll have true 4th axis...
I haven't used them, but Tormach sells a tramp oil collection pillow.
31925 - Floating Tramp Oil Collection Pillow
In the first video's comments, Andy stated that a turret is planned as an option.
Looks great!
Love the programmable coolant feature and especially the bar feeder.
Welcome John.
One thing you might find very handy is the build-in "wizards" included with the Tormach version of Mach3. With you already having experience in Gcode, you can cut most 2-1/2D parts...
I would think Tormach would send detailed install instructions with the unit.
NYCCNC did a nice video on this a while ago...
Tormach PCNC 1100 - Installing the Power Draw Bar - Ch. 13 - YouTube
The fuses should be on a separate board (center in the picture).
I have a series I and a series II PCNC1100, the boards are different in both. The Z axis is labeled the same though. "F3 Z FUSE"
...
I pulled the Z fuse, got the same results.
DRO showing movement with no power to the motor.
X and Y axis work fine.
Maybe just the fuse.
Hi Ernie,
I'll go and pull the Z axis fuse and see it I get the same results.
I think you should call Tormach, they WILL help you. Doesn't matter if your machine in out of warranty.
Application overview
is a good place to start. (Not Tormach, but good information)
Good call Scott,
I forgot that.
Looks like #32431 is an extended one. He'd still need some kind of spacer to get 4" down and then flip the work.
I LOVE my TTS tooling. Although I don't have the...
To allow you to get your full 8" depth without the spindle hitting the work, you'd need about about a 6.5" diameter saw. Wholesale tool has a 6" for just $19.25, but you wouldn't get it .25 deep into...
Try a slotting saw instead of the endmill. Flip it 90 degrees and you'll have it done in a couple of minutes at most.
Good question, and I've never tried. So I changed the drill to a 18vt cordless DeWalt. Worked fine for a 1/4-20 bottoming tap in a 13/64" hole in 6061. Started with a low torque and ended up using #9...
That would be me, glad it worked out for you. The next step is to toss the handle and make a small adapter to mount a drill. I use a standard 110vt cheap one that I just leave on the tapper. The...
Try disconnecting, then re-connecting all the ribbon cables.

Looks like there is someone right there in Memphis.
