Another thought: When loading into Sheetcam are you telling it that your drawing is in "inches" rather than "mm". If not you'll end up with a much smaller image.
I got it to load just fine (I didn't take time to center it or anything...).
You do realize that Sheetcam will only create 2-D toolpaths, not the 2 1/2-D you require here.
You could try Ace converter as well...

Plus, it's free!!! :wee:
Nice profile on the Onecnc site, by the way! Good to see you back here. The Truggy looks great.
First off, I don't want to misrepresent myself - I know very little how to use this thing. I bought it for educational reasons to look at waveforms and see how the amp and speakers I was building...
If you find a place to repair these, I'd love to know.
I have a Tek465 that I bought off of eBay a few years ago when I was building a tube amp. Only one channel works well. It came with the...

I don't know if this helps...
RhinoCam has VisualMill basic built into Rhino. There is a video tutorial here:
http://www.rhino3d.tv/RhinoCAM/RhinoCAM.htm
It only does 3-axis as far as I know.

Just to add...
Depending on if you also need a CAM program, you can also get Mach2 bundled with Sheetcam or Meshcam - save $25.
Why don't you want to use a parallel port controller? If you don't have one on your computer (my laptop doesn't) you can get a dock that will plug into your USB. I just bought a Belkin USB2...
Oh no, I'm not done yet. If I don't figure this out I won't be able to sleep tonight...

oy... Now I'm roped into this...
Notice the guy whose head is split in two (I know from experience that this can be painful...). His head plus the scalp of one of the guys to the right form two...
Looking up the part number I found this:...
I was just playing in Rhino...
It allows you to draw a parabola by Vertex or Focus. When I saved a sample as a .dxf and imported it into Sheetcam(and Mach2, for that matter), I could definitely...
Looking good, Joe! Can't wait to see your first cuts.

Joe,
Wonderful job so far!
I'm curious about the gantry bearings. I looks from your photos that you have two bearings on top of the pipe, resting by gravity. Without a bearing underneath, are...
I used a Freud LU89M 8" blade on a powermatic 64A contractors saw to cut the stock for my router (see the photo at the very bottom of the page):

Well, I didn't want my little thread here to be lost forever without showing how far I've gotten.
Presently, my "work in progess" is sitting in a museum as part of a faculty art show. It's sad...
I was wondering if anyone has yet had a chance to use RhinoCam -- VisualMill basic plug-in for Rhino. I've downloaded the demo, but haven't had a chance to play around with it.
I'm building a...

I'm not that experienced with Rhino, but that won't stop me from playing around with your drawing a little:
Try converting the upper NURBS form (the cowling?) into a mesh (Tools - Polygon mesh -...
There is a program called "BeamBoy" that can calculate deflection for you. Just Google "Beamboy" and you'll find a bunch of download sites.
Of course I failed Statics in college, so I haven't...
Boy, that thing's been relisted several times for at least the last couple of months. The earliest I saw it, they were asking something in the $350 range.
I went with a Parker/Daedal slide - they...
Ryobiguy,
The program will calculate those things for you (Fortunately, since I failed Statics... ).
Under "Beam Properties" just click on the "Calculate" button and you can enter the...
Thanks, Hobbiest. I'll be building the main structure from 3/8" aluminum plate - I don't know the alloy, but it's milled flat. Lot's of drilling and tapping in my future... The x-axis supports...
The gear ratio that I drew was somewhat random - I'll need to spend some time with the SDP/SI calculator to see what is realistic.
I was able to find a really nice Parker/Daedal slide on eBay with...
