Hey ya'll, I came up with something else that needs to get gone. I have a Emerson Commander SK 2hp VFD. This is the same model that Tormach uses on their upgraded spindle. You can check their site...

Hey Tikka, a little late on the response but I just read the post. It is not the machine (in this example) that is the limiting factor with chipload, it is the tool itself. Big tools, at least 1/2in...
Albuquerque is correct.
I have a Compact 10 for sale. I have it wired for 110v 1ph AC powering a 1hp DC motor. Also have original 3ph motor and wiring and switch. Bison chuck, Emco steady and compound rest, Dorian tool...
I do have a post processor. The one for mach3. However, the only ncl file I can find has very basic commands. Such as go: x y, etc. Nothing else. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated....
Okay, so I have managed to do a reasonable job of figuring out how to go from a part to a manufacturing file using the NC Assembly. However, I have finished all the toolpaths but cannot figure out...
Hey Wingnut, thx. I got it. Thank you very much.
Here is the updated without the holes. I am using the post for a Tormach
Ok, I will see if I can get it tomorrow. Thx
I have a part that has a contoured top surface and 6 drilled holes. The holes are no problem, however the contour itself is giving me issues. I have never used the solid machining toolpaths with...
I second g-wizard. It is good stuff.
I haven't noticed any information about this and haven't had time to call Tormach and ask. Sooooo... I figured I'd ask here if anybody has any info. Does Tormach plan to offer the 10,000 rpm spindle...
Hey Guess what there is. Its called g-wiz and bob at cnccookbook wrote it and distributes it for free right now. Go get it. Good stuff. Really Really Good Stuff. The calculations for feeds and speeds...
Ok, Leeson motor, not Baldor. Its a metric motor mount with 1.1Kw, 1.5hp output, 3000rpm, 180volt. The controller is obviously a cycletrol that works great with it. Tach comes with motor too. I am...
Hey Bill, I don't mind splitting stuff up. What tools would you like. Thx
How do you go about producing a ring with a channel set gem setting in Titanium. Anybody have any links. I've tried googling and came back with ton's of crap from sellers, but not any good how to's....
Hey guys, I forgot to post this as well. I have the mill available. Its stripped down but all the parts to return it to a manual machine are there if someone so wishes. I also removed all the...
Sorry about the delay. The limit switches are optical switches so they are extremely accurate. Industrial Hobbies makes them, and they are beautiful. They work perfectly.
Gecko's, CNC Fusion Kit, Powersupply, Steppers are sold.
Here's my bit about Tormach's Customer Service. Exceptional without fail. The machine's were purchased by my college and sat for about 6 months before myself and the new machinist could get it...
Here's some pics.
Also, CNC Brain: $425.00
3 axis DRO for the X3 (glass scales, full-features display, complete kit): $400.00
Limit Switches (Industrial Hobbies made, 2 axis): $200.00

Pics will be up...
So, this is somewhat of a repost on my stupid machinist thread, but I felt that because of the length and breadth and poor exposure on that thread I would start a short new thread. I am building an...
One other thing for sale. I have probably 15-20 tormach tool holders that are not going to be used anymore. These include endmill holders, er20 collet holders, and about 5-10 drill chucks all mounted...
Hey Jason, I seem to remember you posting a video of your smaller mill cutting some aluminum. I was unable to find it through search. Any chance of reposting the link. Thx
The gecko's were great. I don't remember exactly what part it was, but since I've been using the machine for quite some time now with the 203's it couldnt have been them. And if it was before I...
Lol, this is kinda funny considering how down on this subject this thread is... But, I actually work with a retired master machinist. We are going to build one. Its going to be for some school...
Ok, moving on up. Moving on up.
So I'm getting rid of the x3 and all the electronics. I'm going to be parting out the x3 rather than trying to sell the machine whole. Unless somebody really wants...
And did you use the software tormach provided or did you just use mach with the tormach profile loaded? Thx
I have two Tormachs that are being used in a instructional setting. None of the students have ever used a cnc mill or with some even a manual mill before. Because of this, the idea of a travel limit...
