I'm still using NCCad and all the hardware, fortunately for what I am doing it's not too bad once you get used to it, I still cannot work out how to do islands and a few other things.
Quick update I now do CNC it's a handy tool but still prefer the old ways.
I have been using NcCad for several years now and it does take a bit of sodding around to get anything out of it, I tried to talk to the Factory but there seems to be only one person who speaks...
Hi I had control of the X and Y axis but couldn't move the -Z using the motol control after zeroing on workpiece, evidently you move Z down to about 100mm above and then use the quill to zero tool...

Looking good there and you post has rekindled my interest in our Orac, I may try to get some cash out of the boss.
Hi Moe
Not been able to do anything to this lathe as bosses are not bothered whether it works or not.
Not had a chance to convert it yet it's in the workshop with a cover over it, waiting for my bosses to release some funds to do the conversion.

I have one of these over here in the UK and it's fine for PCD work and small milling jobs but as already said it's not the best but it does the job.
Thanks you've been a great help, looks like I may well do that.
Merry Christmas.
Thanks, that's a start.
Any ideas as to how much this would cost?

Am just getting ideas about building my own CNC.
