our machine has run for over 13 years...
the IT guys changed out the CPU controlling it while i was out because it ran XP. Now we are having problems.
It looks like wincnc is loosing its place...

it was single flute on 6061 aluminum

the problem was I slowed it down to much. turned it up to 70 ipm and made 3 passes and it cut like butter, was worth the extra...

I am cutting a slot in 6061 aluminum.
5/32" bit at 5/32" depth
The recommended feed rate from the bit company was:
65 ipm at 16000 rpm

I cut a sample at 50 imp at 16000 rpm and it cut great...

Question:
What type of bit would you use to cut 3/4" MDF with a formica laminate on top?
And what feed and speed?

I assume a down cut so as not to peel up the formica.

I normally cut aluminum...

A few questions?
Is this going to run out of the box? or will I have to mess with it? Are they accurate?
Is there anyone on this board from the US that has purchased a Quickcnc?
I am looking at...
