Hi Luke, my VF2SS (24 tool) has done this once a couple months ago. Tried the recovery didn't work so I turned the machine off and back on .. all good.
Thanks Guys appreciate the advise ... I'll keep an eye on it to determine a pattern but as a minimum I'll check it before running any batch job ... I can live with one part wrong but to find a batch...
As the title states how often do you check the runout of your probe?
I've been pulling my hair out with a part where the indexing lines were significant ... the probe was the last thing I checked...
Geof I don't think you'll need to duck too much ... that stuff is crap.
Mines a 100 gallon/400 litres per day @50 psi combined RODI unit, so I will put it to good use.
Thanks.
Hi All,
Does or has anyone used RODI water with their coolant?
I have a small unit which I use for a fish aquarium and thought that it may be worth using it due to the lack of salts and solid...
Thanks Ken for the tips.
I'll get that photo over to the Haas FB page as soon as we get it powered up and go through the weeks training the local agent has arranged.
Thanks guys appreciate the feedback.
It is like everything with this business, not so much a compromise but no right or wrong answer.

Pondo your advise is sound and appreciated.
I guess I am at the point where the optioned VF-2 less SMATC will meet my needs. However the for an extra $8k for the SMATC provides (based on previous...
Hi Pondo your comment is fair and one that I have been mindful of. I think my list has been kept fairly basic with the exception of the SMATC which I believe is the right choice based on work I want...
Well guys I'm just getting myself confused ... so easy to get lured into the "do you want fries with that" syndrome.
3D yes (or to be honest with myself 2 - 2.5 at least during the learning phase) ... mold work no.
What makes the SS give a worse finish than a standard VF-2, I thought with the direct drive motor...
Hi all ... again great feedback.
I have just come back from our manafacturing expo which was very worthwhile. With regards to the machine I managed to negotiate a better price but then it occurred...
Thanks Gabe, I understood it wasn't to harden or soften the material but would imagine the process it not dis-similar to that used to harden steel albeit without the quenching.
I would think...
Sorry Ydna missed that one ... answer is yes post updated.

The shrinkfit holders are attractive but the price of the fitting tool is exteremely high. Is there a cost effective solution to this that I haven't found?
Thanks guys ... I would obviously love the side mount but at an additional $12k is very hard to justify ... this would be my software and tooling budget. I could survive without the side mount but...
Thanks guys appreciate the feedback.
Seems a no to intuative and a yes to high speed. $$$ are a concern and although I intend on financing (its all about minimising taxable income) its a trade of...
