I do not think incremental/absolute arcs would make a difference. I think you would need to go into the Control Def > arcs > check 360 degree arcs > check break arcs 180 or at quadrant, what ever...
How did you create the geometry? Did you use a raster to vector conversion c-hook to create your cut lines?
There are many different ways to do this but this is finishing within the pocket tool path. Be sure to check out all the options that are available

As solarpower said file>merge>options brings up the solid works import options. We use Solid Works on a daily basis with very few if any issues. If issues come up we try .stp files.

Renesky,
Yes you can do a micro lift in most paths it just takes a little more doing. I used an example of a 2" pocket (standard) using a .5" end mill. Pay close attention to the attached pics...
Cadcam, Thanks!!! I was able to get some time to do some testing this morning. I altered the tool geometry from what I was using

to this

I made a new tool and tested it...
Hmmmm. Would you be so kind to attach the X9 file and the corrected tool geometry and tool file. I would like to see specifically where the problem with the tool is. Sounds like it is with the center...
No Problem.. I had the same issue about six months ago. I worked on it for 2.5 hrs and finally called my reseller and they figured it out in 2 minues!!!
Here u go..The .mcx-9 file is the geometry used to create both of tool files. Yes it is a high feed end mill
Cadcam,
Attached is an example of what I was talking about. Tools 1 and 2 have been created using a wire frame I created that I keep stored on my system. Both seem to have been created correctly....
Look at your plunge cut parameters. There is a spot in both the rough and finish tool paths to adjust this. I believe no plunge is the default.

Cadcam,
Sorry I have been out of the shop. I will try to get something posted in the next few days that will show the issue that I am having with the stock model and the custom profile tools.
Cadcam, Now take that toolpath that you created and copy it to the bottom. Make the toolpath on top part of the stock model. You should get the error that I posted earlier if you created your tool...
We are running the newest rev of X9 of what used to be Mill Level 3 and Solids
Cadcam,
Sorry I have not been on here in a while. If I select an operation that uses one of my custom geometry tools this message appears. I have contacted my reseller and they have told me that...
Actually there are a couple of ways of doing this. You can use a stock model, but stock models still do not support custom tools.
You can however run your simulation in OP 1 > file > save stock >...
Robert M,
Let us take a crack at your part, attach your solid Mastercam file and let us play with it for a few days, when we get finished with it we can post up the
results. It looks like an...
I will try to post up an explanation when I get home but you can try: Toolpaths > Surface High Speed > Area Rough for the roughing portion of the program and Toolpaths > Surface Finish > Flowline ...
Since you are in class here is a little lesson,
Find a good high resolution pic of a logo you would like to work with. Place it on your computer. Open Mastercam > Settings > Run User Application...
Go to your Contour > Parameters > Cut Parameters Page (where you leave stock) there is a drop down at the right of the Roll Cutter Around Corners, change it to NONE, (it is defaulted to all) this...
bb1091,
I am not sure what machine you have, if it is a bed mill or one of the new tool changer machines. I started using Mastercam with a Prototrak SM and SMX 3X bed mill. Be sure to work with...
What I asked is if you could lock the tools numbers so that you could not re-number them, while re-numbering all other tools. The answer was no.
It is important when you first start using Mastercam that you master the WCS. Import your part > Move it where you want it > Set your WCS on the sides you want to machine. You would be suprised on...
I have talked to our re-seller a number of times on this issue. At this time there is no way of locking the tools to a certain number.
Go to Machine Group > Properties > Files> Tool Library, here is where you direct the FBM to pick tools from. I have made my own seperate library for FBM operations.240858
Check your WCS you may be running off the wrong coordinate system or your numbers in Mastercams WCS may have changed
for some reason. In a few cases I have hit the wrong keys when moving the WCS...
It is hard to see the arrows for extrude up or down if you are in the top view switch to iso view. Superman maybe you are talking something else, but you do see arrows.
