The only thing the New Fadals have in relationship with the old ones is the name, I believe they are chinese imports if I remember correctly.
If I had a chance to do it again I wouldn't of bought a Tormach and went straight to a real VMC right away.
mine has 1.1mb with no memory upgrade.
I would buy another Doosan in a heart beat. You can upgrade your memory if you need space just like on haas, just ask your salesman.
The Doosan is a 41x22" machine and the DMG is a 31x22" machine. The Doosan is probably lower cost and has a Fanuc controller. I'd take the Doosan, because I have a great dealer and I like the Fanuc...
I did too, unfortunately the last 2 orders were messed up and he said "oh don't about that, I'll make it right" still not right 9 months later.
be careful buying from latheinserts, they are good about sending you the wrong items and then not answering their phones or emails for months.
Lowered to $18k and I put the factory pump back on
It is, especially for the usable size and how slow it is. And if you actually want a turret and to be able to use it you are in the $22k range.
The problem with quoting is that they are very thin parts and not easily held, the DXF files need a lot of help and pretty small quantities.
What material did you want it made out of?
I've decided to put my automate fl300-II up for sale, I've had it for 15 months and it's been a great machine, low usage as I used it for rifle barrel work. I bought a doosan lynx 220 lysc last fall...
Watertown, SD
I'll have a vmc 10 for sale when I get my new mill.
full 4th axis, and fusion360
Yeah I have live tooling, y axis and c axis. Can do a lot of stuff you would on a 4th axis and more. I have VMCs also but I'll be getting rid of my tormach and fadal when I upgrade to a doosan DNM...
Lynx 220lysc
My experience with my new Doosan lathe has been stellar and a comparable machine through Haas would of been $30k more. I'll buy more doosans.
Under the EZ guide, I just have never done it or know anyone that has.
I've been told the Doosan Machines with a fanuc controller has a thread repair cycle, I have a new Lynx and I would like to try it but I haven't found any documentation on how to do it so I'm hear...
I was looking at one really hard for GS work but there are a lot better machines for it. I use an Automate and a Doosan now and am very happy with them.
I had a 2001 210L and it was a great and very accurate machine, I would of kept it if I had room. I upgraded to a 220lysc
I have had great service from Ellison on my Lynx 220lysc I just purchased about a month ago. I get calls from my salesman asking how it's going, techs stop by to check to see how it's going for me,...
It would be probably $11k, 4yrs old, 4th axis, upgraded to the newest controller. No tool changer or enclosure but pretty much everything else you could get. Probably early next year is when I'll...
I will have one for sale when I do an upgrade, I'm about 3.5hrs west though.
For the time and money that I have in figuring it out I'd rather not share. It's been great for me so far though.
Just remember with a 5k spindle you need 5k work holding. A lot of manual 3 jaw chucks aren't rated that high.
Depends on what you want a lathe for one might be suited better than another. If you want to do repeat jobs with multiple tools and a collet chuck I would go with the FL 300 II, if you want to do one...
