  1. Re: Configuration Question - Step/Dir using Opto Outputs on Konnect Boards

    Hi, Tom:
I have ordered the necessary level shifters and a solder breadboard, so I am on my way. I am still a bit short on all the anticipated/inputs, so I will adding
    a microprocessor to Mux these...
  2. Re: Configuration Question - Step/Dir using Opto Outputs on Konnect Boards

    Hi, Tom:

Thanks for steadying my decision making while walking a tightrope.

So further review of the Panasonic manual shows I can use AB quadrature also, so, that is what I will use for both...
  3. Re: Configuration Question - Step/Dir using Opto Outputs on Konnect Boards

    Hi, Tom:

I am doing some further inventory on signal needs and available ports. I find that I forgot 2 limit circuits, Estop, and edge testing.
Because JP6 on the Kanalog board has available...
  4. Re: Configuration Question - Step/Dir using Opto Outputs on Konnect Boards

<Will consider after other suggestion fail. I am concerned my experience level with tuning the servos is non existent and hope that tuning the servos using the drivers is satisfactory.>

    Back from...
  5. Re: Configuration Question - Step/Dir using Opto Outputs on Konnect Boards

    Hi Tom.
Reading the forum and then the manual, I see that the scan rate of 180uS for each Konnect board is much too show.
Yes, the servo drivers have opto isolation built in. Because I now...
  6. Configuration Question - Step/Dir using Opto Outputs on Konnect Boards

Is it possible to direct the Step/Dir output channel to the Opto Outputs on the Konnect board and not use multiplexed JP4, JP6 or JP5 on the KFlop board? (I have attached a Kanalog board to JP7, and...
  7. Re: Konnect boards do not communicate with KFlop

    Hi, Tom:
Just to be clear in step #5 they were not checked as Outputs but then you checked them to be Outputs. Correct?
<That is correct, the Outputs IO34 and IO35 were not checked when I first...
  8. Re: Konnect boards do not communicate with KFlop

    Hi, Tom:
J2 jumper between pins 1 and 2 is set.
    1-Flashed version - Check.
    2-Cycle power, reboot- Check.
    3-do nothing - Check.
    4-Restart Kmotion.exe -Check.

  9. Re: Konnect boards do not communicate with KFlop

    Hi, Tom:

IO34 and IO35 are configured as outputs.

I do not see my scope change when I toggle IO34 or IO35. IO34 stays fixed at 2.2 volts and IO35 stays at 0.0 volts.

    I am running version...
  10. Re: Konnect boards do not communicate with KFlop

    Hi, Tom:
OK, I will go back to JP6 and follow your instructions.
    Thanks.
    Dave S.
  11. Re: Konnect boards do not communicate with KFlop

    Hi, Tom:
In order to back up a bit, I have connect a single Konnect board, using the supplied 3" ribbon cable to JP6, and ran KonnetEnable.c. Same error "COMM ERROR AUX1 0 (signature not A5)".
  12. Re: Konnect boards do not communicate with KFlop

    Hi Tom,
Yes, that is correct. In the past hour, I have been using a logic analyzer to view activity on the JP6 port, again without the Konnect boards plugged in. No toggling of either the clock or...
  13. Konnect boards do not communicate with KFlop

I have been in design mode for a DIY cnc router for more two years and am now testing circuitry for the KFlop and Konnect boards. When initializing the Konnect boards to set up the virtual bits, I...
