Yes, thank you. Got it sorted. Shift key is a cool trick.
My console does not have integrated wireless. It shipped with a tiny dongle that occupies one of the USB ports at the top of the case.
Can anyone confirm for me that you are getting 300IPM, please? I'm limited to 200 after this update.
Thanks,
Scott
How funny that the only guys in the thread are from Austin?!
Ripper mill looks pretty cool. What size are you running?
Looks like a shell mill is in my future. What are guys using that have had good luck, and what should be avoided?
Thanks,
S.
*MIGHT* have one to go to a good home. Must be picked up in the Central Texas area.
Can we get a pic of the orginal insert?
Also, on the Slant, I will program three spring passes (H3).
I hope they have something close to what you were looking for. Good news is, it ships from the US and will not be held up in customs like so many things are right now.

Sooooo, what is the official, if there is one, way of setting Haimer Z with a tapered spindle. I have found surprisingly little info out there and was curious what you MX guys have come up with.
...
Thanks @Kingjamez. The Tegara's look super nice. Have you been happy with the 60mm ones, or find that you lose too much Z?
Tooling up for the new machine.
What BT30 tool holders are you guys using? Happy with the Tormach branded holders and collet chucks?
Thanks
Scott
Yes. I rarely have a need to open the tailstock window once I had the machine setup.

Just be sure to leave enough room for changing pulleys. That's a definite pain in the...
Cliff,
Yes, I got the issue resolved. The g-code was no different to the eye, but when I ran it through a g-code interpreter it was showing strange characters that I had not put into the code. ...
No wear offsets for that tool, or the reference tool. I call T0505 as a habit, anyways.
Definitely not slipping.
Ok, I'm pulling my hair out over here. Long proven program all the sudden falling short of the part Z0 on an ID chamfer with a small boring bar. Touched the tool off again to update the table,...
Smoke,
I use wear offsets in the middle of a run if I'm starting to diverge from tolerance, or if I'm tweaking in a thread. If it's during setup, I will update the tool offset.
To the best of my knowledge, and if I'm understanding what you are trying to accomplish, you would have to set the end mill up as two different tools with which ever offsets apply for the intended...
RDSI, forgive me for being dense, but is the skimmer a new option from Tormach?
Rumor has it that they are going to make a retro-fit kit that will increase the rapids. I don't know any specifics, but I said to add me to the top of the list to buy it.
The Slant is an amazing...
Mike,
With the Slant and I use the turret and a 3+1 gang setup.
Conversational and then Fusion for anything that's more complex. Very happy with it.
I don't have any specifics on availability. When I saw it, it was in the middle of a 1mil tool change test. Sorry I don't have anymore info. I'm guessing it will be available when the MX comes out.
They do make a PDB for the BT30, it's just not available yet.
Turbostep, THANK YOU! I've been meaning to deep dive this but have just been too darn busy.
I'll check out the video and share any constructive feedback, if there is any to be had of course :-)
Unless I missed it, you never told us what your intentions are for the machine.
Of course.

Just a quick warning about PP 2.1.15...
Conversational was updated to "optimize" the gcode and save unnecessary moves, like when facing and then outside chamfer with the same tool. It does this...
