That's strange... I suggest you send your files (v3d and pictures) to Vectric support and explain them your problem.

Can you post the file (*.v3d)? Can you post pictures of the finishing toolpaths results?

Size (resolution) shouldn't be a problem... I can tell from the picture but is that all flat surface or is there some slope on this model. If there are no slope, then why is it made in 3D CAM...

Post processor customization might be in order at some point to remove or add specific commands. I think VCP can work but is an overkill for plasma cutting; no need for V carving, pocketing,...

Sound like both toolpaths were programmed with the same tool bit or that the toolchanger post processor didn't call up the tool change routine.

I cut melamine with standard router bit. 2 straight edges carbide tipped. Again, as short as possible. So far, I mainly use 1/4" CED X 3/4" CEL to do both the cut, dados and the holes. 14 000 RPM...

Yup, 1-1/2" CEL (cutting length) is too long for your application. You need to be very gentle with such long tool in hard material (pretty much anything else than foams).

I'd use no more than 1"...

Make sure it's clean (almost surgically - every parts of the chuck, collet parts and bit shank) and that it's tight. Does it happen with every bit or just some?... measure the problem tools with...

I'd say it's being fed too slow and it turn too fast... it's most probably getting burning hot.

I'm a big fan and user of Rhino myself so I second... I didn't tried the Art pluggin yet though. I have been happy with MeshCAM and Vectric's Cut3D for toolpathing so far so I'm not yet sold on CAM...
