I am still watching this "Massive" post too. Just looking at the unbelievable work you produce keeps me working on my machine so someday I can try to come close to the quality of work you produce.

How about reducing the diameter by one half and then putting all the mass at the outside. if done properly it should weigh the same but be much easier to handle and still give you the energy storage...

Take a look at the Hiconn Integra. 24V I/O and lots of it. Analog I/O, ability to run a 0-10v, +-10, or Gcode axis spindle.
