Polyester resin works and looks really nice when it's buffed. It's more work but the final product is great.

Do you have cad-cam and a cnc mill ? If not I would suggest a dremel and a steady hand.

Right and Left Hand cutters with low helix will give you very good finish with little to no blowouts. It will also let you climb or conventional cut in the right direction with the grain.
