Re: Things I made on my CNC...

There's a guy local to me that builds custom cabinets and furniture. He has pallets of 4'x8' sheets of this stuff. He lets me buy it at his cost. You can buy it in small 12"x12" pieces from...

  7. Re: 80/20 with HGR25/HGH25 Linear Rails/Bearings

    Re: DIY Design

I forgot to mention the size of my linear rails/bearings. I used the HGR25 rail with the HGH25 bearings. I did not want to use the wide flanged bearings (HGW25), but you can use them with the same...

    Re: DIY Design

I used mostly 3/4" Mic 6 aluminum. There are a few small pieces of 1/2" and 3/8" as well. But the vast majority is 3/4" Mic 6. I had my ballscrews custom machined by Chai at linearmotionbearings2008...
  10. Re: 80/20 with HGR25/HGH25 Linear Rails/Bearings

I haven't machined any 6061 with the new machine yet, but I have machined the motor mount spacers from Mic 6. I just did that this morning. This machine is more rigid and heavy than the last machine....
  11. Re: 80/20 with HGR25/HGH25 Linear Rails/Bearings

To cut all those 3/4" Mic 6 aluminum plates, I used the Amana 1/4" or 1/8" Single Flute end mills. I would usually run about 40 IPM with both diameter end mills. DOC for 1/8" was 1mm. DOC for 1/4"...

  16. Re: 80/20 with HGR25/HGH25 Linear Rails/Bearings

The spoilboard is finished as of this morning. I used Rockler T-tracks. They are 4" between centers. I used a base of 3/4" MDF. The MDF between the t-tracks is 1/2". The height of each t-track is...

  22. Re: Wiring for Huanyang 220V 2.2kw VFD...NEED HELP PLEASE!

Well, if it's powering up, you got the input power right. I would suspect that this is a parameter issue. You should do a reset on the VFD and then go through all the parameters again. Before you do...

Re: Water pump for water cooled spindle

This is what I use. Seems to work fine. The flow is low going through the spindle, but I think that's due to the small passage ways in the spindle...NOT the pump. The pump is not cheap, but quality....
