This looks really strange, especially since it looks like that on the sellers photos. What is the purpose of that plate behind the spindle going down? It looks like spindle clamp should be positioned...

Maybe spindle is not trammed well, so the load on the cutter is not evenly distributed, taking bigger cut at the bottom on the problematic side?

Can you give more details about your ways covers? Did you put scissors mechanism underneath? What is that white stuff you used for scrapers?
