I'm not sure if this is the right section (there are so many!) and before post I did a search, but perhaps I didn't use the right words.
In a few days I will receive my new machine and I'm...
Actually, it's just a drawing on a piece of paper :)
Usually I don't use 3D models for mechanical objects, but only for relief/carving. For mechanical items I prefer to draw primitive shapes and...
I want to machine an object like the one in the attached picture.
Because it's a geometric object I would avoid to machine directly a 3D surface (i.e. stl). Instead I'm looking for a way to machine...
I found this tool in one of my drawers:
400450
It has two flutes and the tip recall the shape of an inverted-V, but I have no idea of its correct name and its purpose.
Would you please say...
English is not my primary language - perhaps my searched didn't find anything relevant because I might have used the wrong words.
Usually, CO2 laser machines use the 3 mirrors and the focus lens...
Well, I was hoping something faster than 50 mm/min
It would be interesting to understand if the power ratings are not so important because there are other variables involved, or just because...
Just for curiosity: at what speed you cut mdf? And I guess non-transparent acrylic, right?
Hello friends,
I'm looking for a cnc with about 500 x 750 mm working area. I will use it mainly for woodworking (standard milling and laser cut/engraving) but sometimes for light Alu cutting (up to...
If you do a search on eBay or AliExpress (i.e. https://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m4084.l1313&_nkw=15w+450+nm+laser) you will find several similar items.
Few questions:
- I don't...
Glad to hear that. I will study the documentation deeper.
They look promising but apart the old v1 the others are still in development and no release date is given:
Currently being designed, release in 2017, see here.
Because v2 is being developed by...
As far as I understand they are very good motion controller but not specific for CNC - I mean it's unclear if they have all the features above and what software I need to use with them.
As said I already own a USBCNC controlled (EdingCnc) but it is NOT suitable for laser engraving because the G1 movements are affected by the S value changes.
About Acorn CNC I will investigate...
Hi!
Right now I have two machines: a small router and a bit larger laser engraver. Both are DIY for most components. The first is controlled by a USBCNC CPU5A4E and the second by an Arduino with...
Hi! I have a couple of questions about some CNC controllers. Before opening a thread I'm wondering if it's allowed to ask something related to commercial products in this forum.
Yes, I have standard stepper motors. Right now, using TinyG, I haven't standard drivers (because TinyG has them built-in) but I have some spares around.
Interesting to know...
Weird, I...
Hi! I know there are a lot of CAM out there for raster engraving.
I tried several of them but I didn't find one with at least the following features:
optimized path (skip blank segments or...
Hi! I built a DIY CNC machine that I use for laser cutting/engraving.
Until now I did simple jobs so my controller was fine.
Today I'm interested in raster engraving, hence I'm looking for a...
