Hello,
I am trying to draw a gear with simple triangular teeth.
I know the number of teeth and the major and minor diameter of the teeth.
How do I easily and accurately draw the teeth around...
Does anyone know anything about Metal Max mills? I saw one in person today but can't find much of anything about them online or this forum with the name or model number. Just wondering in general...
Mike,
Here's the "How It's Made" segment that shows that. It's 2:30 into the video.

Hi guys,
If we use THK/NSK/ect. style rail for the x-axis on a light etching machine, can we use just 1 bearing block per X-rail to support the gantry or is there too much play, so that we'd need...
Hi guys,
Just wanted to give my thanks to Dave at HobbyCNC for a wonderful product.
A year ago we ran across (and bought) a really cheap board (by another brand) and never got it working right....
Hi, does anyone know a source for 35mm round shafts?
All the sources I've seen (eBay and retailers) have 30 and 40mm, but not 35. I'm looking for 60" length, but anything to get me in the right...
Hi Ger,
I think you are right. Extrude. It didn't look (to the novice) like the right thing when I was browsing help files, but I think it may be. I'll give that a try. I'll create flat 2D...
Hi tkran,
Thanks for the reply.
I am not actually trying to machine this, but create a 3D model for prototyping. I'm not attempting to create any code or anything, just draw the parts.
It's...
Ok, does anyone know of a better place to ask the question?
Thanks,
Alex
Nobody?
If anyone can help, thanks in advance!
Alex
Hi Guys,
I have been using TurboCAD for a while now, mainly in 2D.
I've done some 3D illustrations, but normally by creating a 2D shape and then giving it "thickness" in the properties dialog....
Thanks for the replies!
Perhaps. If we could get 40 or 50 IPM without missing any steps I would be very happy. Just wondering if I was missing something (or many things), and probably am. ...
Hi guys,
I must still be missing something.
If we go from 18v to 30v, we'd get about 1.6x the speed.
By going from 1/4-20 to 1/2-10 threads we'll get 2x the speed.
So that gives us around...
Hi guys,
I think I am going to buy a HobbyCNC pro 4-axis board today. But first, how can we tell if our motors are unipolar and compatible with the board?
They are old and come out of printers...
Just changed each axis to "full step" instead of "wave", and the motors are still missing steps visually at 20 IPM. Not sure that it had any effect. Maybe more torque?
Alex
It's set to "wave". I am going to change it now and try that.
We are powering the driver board at 18.0V now.
We also have another machine (CNC foam cutter) with a HobbyCNC driver board. Would switching the router to a HobbyCNC Pro router driver make any...
Hi, we are using an MC433 drive board from SOC Machines (soc-machines.com). It is for unipolar steppers. It does not support microstepping. It is currently in "wave step mode" (according to...
Hi,
We are using Mach3 Mill trial version for our CNC router with 1/4-20 lead screws and Nema23 motors.
The fastest we can get to is about 12-15 IPM or so before the motors just stall.
Is...
Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find 35mm rod for linear bearings? I can't seem to find it (just 30 and 40mm).
Thanks,
Alex
