Nice job! This is great, does this fan keep the motor as cool? Before/after pics of the wall & surface finish? We played with static balancing the fan, rubber damping the motor & mount and the V...
Thx for the response guys !
It's now almost noon and I've been up all night ! Job is not done until the job is done ! Team no sleep
I removed just about everything but the ballscrew, motor...
Well, one of my 1100 S2 lines just blew out and can see all of the way oil pumped at the base of the stand. Make total sense why my coolant has always had a tint to it, not to mention would go bad...
As for a power supply, look up an Astron VS70 or the 35. They can be daisy chained for parts/racks that require more amps. For Ti anodizing you'll need more volts, but the Astrons work great for...
The caswell kits are a nice start, but I'd suggest making your own using the standard 12amps per sq ft setup. Building the acid tank is the most critical, but easy when you got guys to help. :) A...
Post a pic or video to help us understand what you're seeing (wall or face finish ?). I tightened every possible screw on my machine years back and my problems went away.
Hirudin - Sweet part !
Don ever try tapping 6-32, 8-32 or 1/4-20 Titanium with that head ?
You'd be wrapping the shim stock around the rods OD with just a tiny bit sticking up past the rods height, creating an ID around the part to be X&Y probed.
WOW !! Russ the Vise Cracker !! :)
Quick fix... Using a piece of shim stock cut almost to the same size OD, wrap that around the rod starting at 11 oclock and click probe X & Y after probing Z first. :) I prefer to hold it very...
Nice, think this is also used in gardening. Normally I use a 10% diluted mix of sulfuric acid to water. Where can I buy the stuff ?
I made this a little over a year ago and has worked very well. 95% hand coded. If there's one thing I would have changed/used was the mitee bite uniforce clamps instead.

"The acid won't hurt the aluminum. What do you think an anodizing bath is?? The best tap removal is a battery charger and sulfuric acid @ 50% dilution."
It will pit after time, but we're talking...
"I used to use a product called Tap Out. It was a sulphuric acid solution we used to remove 10-32 and 1/4-20 taps from 7075 aluminum. It took a couple of days and we had to heep the tempreature at...
Hi Mike,
I've used 15% diluted sulfuric acid mix to remove taps in Titanium, 304 and some aluminum. Ti & SS I left overnight worked like a charm (through hole, plug the bottom with hot glue/wax). ...
I use the same method as Mike, but with a 123 block.
So many different things that could be wrong here, you gotta take them one step at a time. From my phone... It's sound like your EM to me, I'd also check your machine for BL. I know it's a real pain...
I'd say it depends on the buyer, just tell him what you paid for it and ask for his best offer. The friend thing is always tough and sure if he's a good friend he'll make a good offer.
"Or...
Luv their videos !
Post a few pictures
Jid2 - reread the post guy, I never said they were the same finish. From my testing I know it's impossible to pull the same finish on this machine. All I was showing was from a part made on a Mori...
Ding ding B as you guys can tell is a very nice finish (Mori), but the little engine that could wasn't that far behind. :)
Awesome job !
"Yet another theory? Sorry but I don't buy it for 2 reasons:
1. If your gallops are anything like those of the OP (as I'm sure they are judging from images I've seen of your finished parts) then the...
Here's my theory on the ripples/gallops. I've spent a bit of time trying to figure this out with Mike Sr. All of our machines have natural backlash of .0007" - .0013" in X & Y that can't be...
What's up guys ! Brad out of these two, which is the Tormach S2 finish :) ?

"Brand of the cnc laser?
You'll are not helping my tool addiction..."
LOL I know the feeling !
It's a 40w Mini 24 Epilog and very impressed with the machine so far. Trying to get it to...
Ended up with a cnc laser and thinking about picking up the lathe too. The laser is awesome and have used it to engrave & cut wood pieces. Under a 45x scope the detail is extremely fine and very...
