  1. Re: Stepper Drivers, Smooth Steppers, and Parallel Ports - Am I missing something?

    1. Yes it enhances speed of the machine.
    2. Ethernet has a faster transfer of data than a USB
    3. The SS may help the steppers. But my opinion is steppers are a waste of time.I built my
    machine...
  2. Re: New control panel build looking for advice on the layout.

    Hi

I got some new information and need to try it. It was mentioned that the smooth stepper has
a frequency setting. It might be necessary to lower the value. That`s the next step in the...

No feedback from encoder on a 320x

    Hi

I got my x and z Gecko 320s working no problem. For the panel rebuild I purchased a new G320x for the Y axis.
I used the same wiring as the 320s but it seems the motor ran away. Not a big deal...

  7. Re: New control panel build looking for advice on the layout.

    Hi RCaffin

The motor has a +,- and ground. So three wires. It is the ground not the return or - I`m concerned about.
    Sorry for not being clear.
  8. Re: New control panel build looking for advice on the layout.

    Hi All

    Thanks for the answer Al.
I am rewiring my cnc and am unclear as to where the motor ground wire should terminate.

    Hi
    Larry

I haven`t gotten that far. But I will have individual wires for each Gecko. Anyone know if its necessary to place a zener diode under the fuses.
I did in my last control panel....
  11. Re: New control panel build looking for advice on the layout.

    Hi All

I spent the weekend soldering and making the final connections to the control panel. Glad this is done.
Next step on to the wiring of the Geckos in conjunction with a new board from...

Re: How to secure pin end of xlr connector

    Hi
Thanks for the info. Placed the pin end in a vise. And ground a screwdriver tip to fit the slot.
Finally loosened the screw. They were over torqued from the factory.

    Hi all

The control panel is coming along nicely. The recommendation for the wire ducting made a big difference.
