After it crashed did you happen to check what the pulse frequency was in under the diagnostics screen?
This sounds very frustrating.. I have looked at the other posts but probably not all of them. I do not own a tormach but am pretty familiar with mach and general cnc. When this happens what is mach...
Thanks Jim,
I am chargeing $33 total including paint and 1 simple bend...
I also gave them the option of no paint or cleaning for $21.. That included the one simple bend..
So I seam to be...
Hi all,
I wondering if some of you could help me out. I am cutting these parts for some people and am wondering if my pricing is in line.
Note. All drawings are Copywrite proctect. And the...
Setpt will move all the points to a plane.. Don't think that is what you are wanting though.... I can't think of a command that will do what you want. I usuaully use the "move" command.. and then...
I had some time this week to work on the 4th axis. I got it finished and working. I still have some little things
to workout but everything seams to be working well.

I know its alot to try to figure out all at once! Sheetcam is an awesome program I love it!

Couple things. First in Mach3 Check under "Ports and Pins" Click the "Mill Options" tab.. Make sure "allow THC up/down control even if not in THC mode" is NOT checked. Your THC will not work properly...
Sounds like a problem with the material referencing. You have some kind of a floating head? does it seam to refrence ok each time? It could be as simple as adding some more referencing G28's in your...
For the future to make it easier. You can change the rapid height in Sheetcam. Look in under "options" "material setup" and then change the "rapid clearance" to whatever you want.

The gear box is going to be about a 46:1 reduction. It has 3 step downs. I am waiting for my belts to get here. When I get them I'll put it all together and take some more pictures.
I should have...
When I built my CNC table a few years ago I built it with the idea of putting the 4th axis on the side.
I am finally getting around to working on it some.

I carved this last summer and meant to post a picture of it before this but just have been to busy.
Carved in pine. I used sanding sealer then a gelstain (Antique maple) then 3 coats of laquer. ...
I think you have the right idea.
Here is how I do it. I do alot of custom jobs and some repeat jobs. I keep everything on one main computer and my folder breakdown looks something like this.

I dont' think either one is going to be much better than what you have right now. Bigger tank but that doesnt' mean a whole lot. Its all in the CFM as you know. If the cfm ratings on those two units...
Under the Mach3 "config" "tool table" Menu do you have any tool offsets in there? If you are not using tool offsets everything should be "0"
You said that the DRO reads -.2 but the machine goes...
Just the regular glass cyclinder type fuses work fine http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/category/245/Fuses/1.html
Should have a fuse for each drive... Sence its only a 3.5 amp supply I'm...
I'm not an expert thats for sure. But the idea of using a fuse is to protect the drive/motor. If you are using more than 1 drive/motor from the same power supply I can't see how having 1 fuse on the...
Yes you can and should fuse the dc power supply
Transformer- Rectifier- Capacetors- Fuse
The fuse should be on the + wire
You can use the regular glass tube type fuses..
It should be a...
Mach moving slow through Gcode depends on how many little segments are in your drawing... The Dxftool should clean up your drawings alot so that Mach should be happy with it.
...
Kylemp,
What do you mean by Mach is "stalling at each line of code"? do you mean it is pausing? or slowing down?
About the tool paths. If you have alot of really small segments you will have...
Kylemp,
Thats great news!! Post the link to the video when you get a chance.
The end of the cuts. Your using lead in's and lead out's right? I still get a little mark on thicker material.

I have a Hypertherm 1000 also. I have had a simaliar problem but may be a little different. I notice the problem when the unit first starts cutting for the day after I run it for awhile it gets...

I think you may be onto something with the motors not being geared on the x axis. I know steppers do vibrate some. I have steppers on my plasma table but they are all geared so that cuts...

In mach under motor tuning what do you have the acceleration set at? you could try turning it down if you have it set high and see if that helps. You said its more noticable when they...
I have a hypertherm so this info is from my experience with that unit and can't say this will apply to your A80 unit...
At the torch where you screw the shield on Hypertherm calls it a...

Sorry can't help you with the shaft.
I would question the reduction also though. How large of diameter colums are you planning on doing?
Mechanicaly you will get about 10 revolutions per minute...
Kylemp,
Your Gcode looks good. Looks like it came from sheetcam? It has nice arcs for the gear so I don't think the code is any problem at all.
In Mach General Config. There is somthing called...
