Great work!
You can generate the list of parts from Eagle. Do a googe search for Eagle and BOM.
These drives were recommended on another site. No affiliation.

Calling this "Big" is the biggest understatement!
It is a proper giant. Very inspiring work. Thanks for sharing it.
One of them really smart ones - AFAIK, the only person to
win a Nobel and also a Turing.
Wow, really beautiful. Those are the best yet.
Khalid, like Roman wrote in post #2 on page 1, the value
of the resistor is not critical (and is not really dependent on the
size of the LED).
So you can just change the LED to 5mm and if you are...
Sure, Alan. Your redrawn version of the schematic is so much simpler to read too.
For a simple circuit like this, it may be advantageous to go with
a single sided layout, so it can be done at home via toner transfer
or on pcb mill.
I just came across this cool clock by Roman Black using
the Linistepper.

This clock reminded me of the Jefferson mystery...
Eagle sch and brd are available here, albeit for a different board -
http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97870&page=4
As per the info in his posts, the board is perfectly usable via the
parallel port interface, when using an external controller.
The microprocessor is needed if you want to make this into a ...
There seems to be another 3 axis single sided PCB for this chip -

A little package came my way today, with a bunch of goodies.
Thanks, James!
Could you post the ebay item details?
TIA!
Apparently old toothbrushes make excellent rail cleaners.
Wow! I hit the jackpot here. I am truly overwhelmed :-)
James, that's really generous of you to throw in all those goodies.
Thanks to Roman and you for the design and the contest.
I owe more...
I actually thought about the tile cutter while looking for a easy, ready-made Y-axis,
for a small CNC with a small span for PCB and other small engraving.
I came across another sensor which people seem to have used
successfully - US5881LUA-ND and the SMT version costs $0.41 from Future!!
The datasheet says it is a low magnetic sensitivity unipolar...
Looking for a quick-n-easy way to build a small CNC, I was wondering
using the rails and slide from tile cutters.
The better ones have chromed/stainless steel rails and linear ball bearings.

Here's a version with increased isolation.
The LED resistors values should be good for 5V and 24V respectively.
If using a different motor supply voltage, adjust the resistor accordingly.
For anyone in India following this thread, Rhydolabz has
the MH183 unipolar hall effect sensor for a decent price.
It appears to be similar to the Honeywell SS441 and has the same pinout too.

eSilviu, as Roman said, you are a real gentleman. I might need further
mentoring from you, as I think your drawer slide pcb mill is
a nice first cnc for my limited capabilities.
Roman,
I...
James, thanks for your very generous contest to help
kick off an "open" design for this circuit.
Though I did initiate this activity, if a nice PCB design has emerged,
the credit goes to eSilvu. ...
It's the global era. Some pics from New York :-)

Looking for more info on PCB layout techniques,
I came across a very nice document on pcb layout posted by Mariss,
which I thought I would reference here for other aspiring PCB designers.

eSilviu, thanks for all the fixes and patient mentoring :-)
I can fix that BIG flaw, and without breaking the ground plane too :-)
Surely you kid me, Master :-)
eSilviu, that's awesome. I played around to complete the routing, but
I am sure I messed up your nice layout. Anyways, attaching it in
case it is useful to someone.
