Hi John
I have a Hitec-Turn 20SII with a Seicos LIII control. We just had to replace the power supply. the machine was down for 4 months waiting on the new power supply. Now at power up we are...
I do not have access to means to heat something that long.
I guess I never thought a muffler shop could handle that heavy of pipe.
I will call some.
I am trying to figure out a good way to bend a 8 foot long piece of 2 inch schedule 80 galvanized pipe. (2.38 OD x .22 wall)
This will be both a structural and decorative part, I need the strength...
You may be able to adapt one of the power feeds made for the small Bridgeport or Enco type machines.
If the knurled nut on the collet was over tightened before closing the collet, it can take a fair amount of force on the handle to get it to release.
Especially if it sat for a long time and was...
Also most houses do not have 3 phase wiring.
You will need to get a Phase converter. The motorized ones are the best.
Please share your ball screw place.
I am also very interested in a CNC 2UVR.
When I bought my 2UVR it also had a "broken" power feed.
The first thing that I found is that some genius in plant maintenance had wired the dual voltage (220/440) motor for 440. The plant it came...
Thanks to all that answered.
I had started by looking in my Machinery Handbook #23 and did not find what I was looking for.

The link you posted worked out great.
Thanks again.
I need to make some gears for a project.
I have the correct cutter and have an indexing head for my mill.
I need the formula to calculate the wire size and measurement over wires.
The gears that I...
It was well choreographed and planed out and as a result quite boring.
Even though everyone helping was sure it would not work. :argue:
To bad I didn't think to take any pics of the process.
I...
Half of the fun of that machine is the look on peoples faces when they see the Tree and look at the basement steps with 2 90* turns.
I have a couple of new thoughts on the quill.
If I...
The difference is that this Tree has been in my basement for the last 7 years now. Its not like I am looking to go out and buy a mill to convert.
And I certinally do not have room for a second mill...
Good, It's not me thats messed up for a change.
Thanks
I get an error trying to view the pdf.
I have a Tree 2UVR that I would like to convert to CNC.
The X and Y should be pretty straight forward.
The Z axis is where I am not sure how to attack.
The easy way, but not the best way would be...
When I purchased my Mill it came with a pallet full of tooling.
After sorting thru all of the tooling there is a large quantity of tooling that are bigger than any of my equipment can handle.

OK
Plan 37 worked.
I just set the lathe to cut 11.5 threads per inch and kept going deeper till the mating part screwed on, and called it close enough.
Thanks
I looked in the Machinery Handbook and several other sources, they jump from 1" to 1-1/4"
I can not find any indication that a 1-1/16 actually exists, except for the mating part to the one that I am...
I have a requirement to cut a 1-1/16 GHT (Garden Hose Thread), 11-1/2 TPI to fit a mating part.
I have been unable to find any thread data for this thread.
What is a good resource to lookup oddball...
I agree with Al.
The HP, watts and Amps indicate 220V.
I think that the 22nV is really just a poorly placed"0" as in 220V.
The 14g wire and plug with 2 flat contacts will be fine.
If your motor has 3 wires comming out and one of them is not green, it is possible that you have a 3 phase motor.
often times the ground connection is not a wire, but instead a screw terminal....
I checked with Dan, His was a refit of a mill that was CNC in an earlier life.
It looks like my only big issue will be the Z axis.
There are no exposed parts of the quill till it is about 1 inch...
I just pried of the cover plate.
It looks like there is a stub of a shaft the can be accessed.
It currently has the worm gear on it, it looks to be just a roll pin holding it.
It takes ~29.5 turns...
The machine does not now have ball screws, but I do intend to add them. The x-axis screw is fairly worn and there is almost 1/4 turn of backlash right now.
I may go to ball screws even if I do not...
I have a Tree Mill model 2UVR that I would like to convert to CNC.
This machine is similar to the 9x42 Bridgeport’s, but not really a clone.
Has anyone ever converted one of these?
What are the...
I feel your pain.
I moved a 3400 lb mill into my basement, going around 2 corners.
All of my friends are now praying that I never decide to move.
