Thanks for the update and best of luck with your new shop!
Are you still looking for one of these?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!
Very interesting - in their 6D sensor patent, they are using a single frequency laser, with a clever technique for roll detection.
In general, how do you fit the information the laser gives you into...
It is interesting to me how this is used in practice, so I hope you don't mind a few more questions. This system will give you roll, pitch, yaw and distance (and squareness if you put the pentaprism...
Does the machine run under the control of the measurement system, or does it run a gcode program, or is it more of a move-the-table-manually-and-hit-enter-on-the-laptop kind of thing?
How much does that XD unit cost?
Very interesting. Can you explain a little more what the difference is? What Renishaw units are you referring to?
Ok, trying to add picture again.

I have done that ball replacing before. But instead of going through the expense of measuring the balls super-accurately, I just measured them with a caliper and then bought replacement balls one or...
The Ziman split HP/Agilent interferometry lasers are easy and cheap-enough to find on eBay, but the control boxes are rare, expensive and bulky.
So Sam Goldwasser and I made a replacement that...
Actually, their serial converters are matched to the motors. So you have to have the proper serial converter for the motor/encoder combination. According to the "SGDH User’s Manual Supplement for...
Thanks! I am not looking for anything in particular. This is stricktly hobby stuff for me. I just browse on ebay and when I find a great deal I tend to grab the thing and try to find a project to use...
Thanks again for taking the time. I appreciate the straight answers.
As for the point, well, I like my Yaskawa drives very much and I wanted to find out if they could be used to drive some motors...
Once again, thanks!
One more question, if you don't mind. I can't find the reference right now, but I remember reading in a couple of places that one can contact Yaskawa to make a custom motor...
Thanks for the info. I suspected that the voltages would have to be compatible, and am glad to have confirmation. Can a drive run a larger motor at reduced capacity? For example, can a 200W motor ...
Do you have any more information you can share about who was successful and how it was done?
In any case, can you clarify what you have mentioned before about 04 drives being good for 02 motors?...
Found it!
The fully-closed encoder option was configured. This, being the option for an external glass scale, naturally kept the feedback from the motor encoder out of the loop.
Hi. Thank you for reading this.
I have a Yaskawa SGDH Servopack. I have gotten most functions to work fine. The servopack comes up. I can control/monitor the unit in SigmaWin+
The problem I am...
Thanks for the answer! I will just buy new rails then.
I have just gotten a used desktop CNC (Roland PNC-300 CAMM-3). The x-y table is made of two THK RSR15 linear rails with the carriers mounted back to back.
Anyway, when I gently push/pull on the...
I have obtained a very nice spindle from a komo VMC. It is a BT40 taper spindle. The draw bar is missing, so I will have to make one, and I would like to solicit some input here.
There are 3...
I can get my drive online, oscope or not. Did you solve your problem?
I can connect to the sst1500 without connecting the scope, if that is what you mean. I my case, however, I cannot get into the menu that sets the custom motor. The documentation says to press...
I am going to put a servo loop in as an upgrade. For that purpose I got an SST1500-acx servo drive. The servo motor came from another source and I am not sure how to test it. The part number of the...
I just replaced the bearing. The old one was full of wood dust from cutting a concrete sink mold from MDF. The original vacuum system was completely inadequate.
Well the main bearing in the bosch 1617 router failed, and I am looking into replacements.
it is of type 6004-rs2 and the bosch bearings are readily available for about $13. I would love to know...
Thanks for the info. I will revisit this.
I have been able to cut wood at up to 500 IPM with this machine. Unfortunately, that was too much for the coupling on the y axis. It seems that the aluminum fatigued over time, as there are many...
Thanks a lot!
