Better make it 1/2" thick bars drilled thru. Would have edited request but apparently cannot(?). Also still cannot find out why it keeps saying I am posting from a mobile device when I am not or...
Still looking - also someone good with online operations, computer tech, internet, marketing, website design, etc. - unlimited growth opportunity
3/4" x 3/4" x 24" aluminum bars (2 needed) drilled as per sketch - holes are drilled 1/2" deep and hole size is so a #8D finish nail can be snuggly inserted into each (#39 drill?).
soft foam which a blade tends to tear rather than cut cleanly. Does that help? This is to be a cnc controlled saw - like what this machine does:

but...
Someone that just gives me a list of parts I will need and the overall design - or steer me to a company that will design something or provide the parts and support?
See some of my other postings. Fairly simple design - only 2 axis, size approx 4' x 6' footprint. Will do the work of commercial machines costing $100k and can be built for likely under $5k...
UPDATE: Well I figured out how to make the loop WITHOUT having a linemans splice so am still looking for help to build a 2 axis machine - either at my or your location. Once built, these...
See my other thread on building a wire band saw.
Now I need someone to make a wire loop (or 2-3?) for me connecting the ends of the wire I will send them as neatly as possible while maintaining...
No, has to be the wire I have (see attached)
Still making progress building - should be able to do some trial cutting this week
A bearing like this?

Guess I'd have to epoxy it in place in a hole about the O.D. size - or is there a better way of...
Did you find a solution?
Posting a drawing of the required part might make it easier to help you
Making progress - have made some 6" wood wheels that seem to be able to drive the wire ok without any problem. Each wheel (drive and idler) has a tight fitted 1/4" SS center shaft (see diagram). ...
I already tried making a loop by twisting ends together and it looks functionally fine.
Looks like I can get v-groove guide bearings for the wire on eBay - only need some kind of drive roller* to move the wire via a small motor. Any advice?
I can apparently easily make the wire...
I need to add here that the wire does not actually have any abrasive grit but is a "dual twisted" wire - one wire tightly wound around another strand of the same wire; is Intended mainly for cutting...
Anyone who would like to help me in this project is most welcome. This is intended to be a productive and potentially quite profitable endeavor.
Job opportunity in Central Michigan for someone that can design, build, program, and operate a polyurethane foam cutting machine and other machines using similar technology. Unlimited growth...
I want to build (DIY) a horizontal band(wire) saw using a fine (.035") SS abrasive wire (instead of a blade) I have on hand with about a 32-40 inch cutting length and a 6" throat. Question is what...
And I need a SIMPLE, EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND USE program that I can input G-code to and it will make a 2D drawing of the tool path the code will generate to view.
I watched the intro video for...
I only need something for a 2 axis machine so will only be drawing in 2 dimensions.
Is there some kind (or kinds) of a drawing program that all you do is draw the profile you want to make and the program will generate the G code to run your Mach 3 sotware for it?
Using steppers with 1/4" shafts I want to convert their rotary motion to linear at a maximum rate - IOW, something like one full turn of shaft produces 1" of linear motion*. How can I do this and...
Highly doubt it - post some pics or drawings of this project and perhaps I can advise
Only foam - see my post under title "Need some mentoring"
$5,000 sound better?
OK, not getting much help with my other post - how about this: who/what would be the best kit recommendation or kit supplier for under $2,000?
Called him - he says no - next?
