I can share one of my metric libraries, but unless I'm just not seeing it, I don't see how to upload anything other than an image to this forum.
So what you really want is someone to provide a library with the exact tools you intend to purchase, correct?
You know it's really easy to make your own library, right? It's probably easier than getting someone else's library then having to carefully edit it to suit your inventory of tools, tool number...
I agree with Andrew's suggestion to contact MecSoft. They are very helpful. You will have better success getting this figured out using their support than a bunch of random suggestions on a forum....
I know this is an old post, but...
No thermal compensation on that machine?
It will be interesting to see what this can do, once you get past all the industry buzz words. Is this fully autonomous programming? Is there still human intervention required?
We are doing this, but unfortunately it's not for the public at this time. Maybe once the patent is final I can talk more about this.
With regard to Rhino, I think the discourse site gets all of the traffic. It's where the developers and most experienced users communicate. I would think that's why there isn't much traffic here. I...
Better take the Rhino forum down too. There hasn't been a new post in 13 months. Probably the Cadkey forum too. MeshCAM might as well go to. It's been 13 months without a post. Is lack of activity...
I guess that really sums up my first post. If Hexagon would put a little effort into WorkNC it would go a long way. Like some current training material? Maybe a dedicated forum? They are big enough...
I hoped this post would open a dialogue about the future of WorkNC with someone from Hexagon. Why do that here? There's no official WorkNC forum where a person can have these kind of discussions with...
I will say one thing. The more we use PowerMill the better WorkNC looks.
I don't know if you'll find a cheaper simultaneous 5-axis option than Fusion.
A year later and still waiting for someone from WorkNC to tell me I have it all wrong.
Esprit is probably the best solution for this type of machine. We've used it on our Integrex and now on our Okuma Multus. It is not cheap.
Download the Rhino demo. You will have 90 days to use it for free. Rhino is very good at file translation. Import your STP file and save it as DXF or DWG.
Same with us. Not having our processing power throttled back is the only reason we are still on maintenance. And the simultaneous module that we purchased that somehow switched to a lease was the...
We have 35 CNC machines ranging from a small Haas lathe to a large Apec 5-axis.
Why quality programming goes up and down could be caused by a lot of factors. A guy has an argument with his...
Just think if you could take a detail in CAD, pick an icon from a toolbar, and the toolpath is produced and verified with verification software; all running remotely. The posted and checked NC file...
We are working with Autodesk PowerMill and RhinoCAM from Mecsoft. Both have API's and we've had some great success taking them further then most would imagine. Last year we programmed 90,000 unique...
With an API (application programming interface) you have the ability to automate repetitive tasks such as setting up stock, inserting work holding, etc. With a bit of programming knowledge (Python,...
Nice to meet another long time user. 28 years for me.
After all these years we are preparing to move on. Here’s a tip: find a product with an API. You can automate your new product so that you’ll...
We went with RhinoCAM. Previously we used madCAM for 8 years, and I even worked with Joakim in development and testing. But he can only do so much, and our needs outgrew what he was capable of...
The MecSoft products can do this too.
I wouldn't be surprised. Hexagon's efforts since acquiring WorkNC have been lackluster at best. It's certainly not worth the cost of annual support.
Guess I'm not wrong.
Yes, this should be possible. The 2 1/2 axis engraving toolpath is actually a 3-axis path. It will follow your curves. But I would avoid STL. If you're modeling it as a solid, then just use the STEP...
I don't personally cut molds, but my city is the moldmaking capital of North America. At one point we had 120 shops making plastic injection molds here.
What most people use here is Autodesk...
I think Hexagon has not done a good job with WorkNC. I know someone that requested a demo and it took 2 years for a reply. Of course at that point interest was long gone. Training material is 4 years...
Did you get this solved? If not, look at line #30 in your post.
1 0 0 F : 30 Format of speed commands : 0=n/a
That third digit needs to be a 0 to add the decimal point after the...
