    Re: Horrendous Finish

Well... The verdict is in. I couldn't wait till tomorrow. Had to go to the shop today and check the spindle rotation. Sure enough, it was backwards! Swapped the wires on the VFD and it carves...

    Re: Horrendous Finish

I was running a Bosch. Can't remember what model, just one from Lowes. Been running that same model since I built the CNC router table.

I replaced it with one of the Chinese spindles, Huanyang...

    Re: Horrendous Finish

Yes, it was installed new about a month ago. I'm not sure what you mean by break it in slowly. I ran it at different RPM's for 20 minutes or so over the span of a few days, not cutting, just...

    Horrendous Finish

Hi, I've been making signs and 3D carvings on my "homemade CNC router" for about 4 years now. I recently decided to 'upgrade' from a router motor to a spindle, mostly for the decrease in noise. ...

    Super PID

    Hi all,

Just trying to install a Super PID on my DIY CNC Router. I have a Bosch 1617EVS router and have installed the optical sensor and it appears to be work as I can see the RPM's on the LCD.

    Re: My KRMx01 Build

These next pictures are basically where the machine stands at this point. They are in no particular order. I have 2 identical computers, one has Mach3 and the other has LinuxCNC. I've not decided...

    Re: My KRMx01 Build

In the 2nd book, it shows how to build braces that make the X-Y axis' more rigid. I thought I could improve on this for my machine so I built mine a little different.

    Re: My KRMx01 Build

Pictures of the Y carriages. These parts were supposed to be built from 3/16" steel angle. The local steel supplier gave me 1/4" and it didn't dawn on me until I'd already started making the parts...

Some pictures of when I was working on the Y Rails. The table/stand makes a good work bench.

    My KRMx01 Build

I've wanted a CNC router for quite a while. A few years ago, I researched it and my conclusion, right or wrong, was that the affordable plans builds were made from MDF or wood. This wasn't very...

Re: Cant find router mounts for the KRMx01

Will do. I think I will just start a new thread and post pics of my build there. I didn't keep an excellent record like Joe at MyHeap.com did, but his site was my inspiration for building the...

Re: Cant find router mounts for the KRMx01

I'm building a KRMx01 and here's the mount that I ordered for mine today: VeloxCNC (forum removed the link to it)

They sent me the STEP file and by the measurements there, it should bolt right up...
